I've thought about this, and figured it was easy enough to do with the find utility. Man page is here.
It's not difficult to do, I'll leave it up to you to figure out the specifics.

In case you haven't noticed, using roms of games you don't legally own is illegal. This gives people a legal way to play these games, which should quiet down some peoples' consciences.

Is it just me, or does this sound suspiciously like the description of the lightning gun from UT2k3/UT2k4? That was described as painting a proton patch on the target, then firing an arc of electricity that would seek out the charge differential. Or something like that. Or is it just me?

I never said the quote was *accurate*, just *appropriate*. That said... what the heck do they run nuclear reactors on, anyway?

QNX 6.3 Released

QNX is older than linux. It's a microkernel. It's realtime. Linux is neither. There was a very appropriate quote from somewhere - "Linux is what you trust your server to. QNX is what you trust your nuclear reactor to." They each have their place.

Although both games are conceptually similar to Alien versus Predator, Alien Swarm has a completely different style of gameplay. Personally, I prefer AS because it's much more original. For NS, I can just play AvP 1 or 2.

<Arctic_Wolf> My friends parents bought him the nice DDR pads so he could lose some weight.
<Arctic_Wolf> He gets in trouble whenever they find out he's bought a non DDR PS2 game.
<Arctic_Wolf> "HOW IS ARMORED CORE 2 SUPPOSED TO HELP YOU LOSE WEIGHT, WONG?"
...You know something's wrong when you can recall a bash.org quote for just about *any* situation.

As I recall, there was something about this in the xorg FAQ. You don't need 2 X servers. You just need to set up 2 displays, *without* xinerama. Just follow the standard dual-head configuration thing - it mentions dual-headed cards. Then, start X normally, and your primary display will contain your original window manager. After that, just do DISPLAY=:0.1 icewm & or whatever. Note that you can't push stuff across your desktops other than your cursor, though.

Firstly... you've never tried porting old dos games (or even strangely written linux games) to more modern operating systems, have you? If you're lucky, it won't require much more effort than rewriting minor graphics, sound and input routines, but if not, it can get very troublesome. Now, regarding GTA: Rockstar re-released it for free. It's about a 100mb download. It works okay under win XP and win2k, but works much better under linux/winex:p
Anyway, if you can, try this stuff under WineX. It seems to handle those old games fairly well.

http://www.antra.dk/-- get the video here, down the bottom of the page. It's 60mb or so, but it's pretty amazing. Some of those guys have way too much time on their hands. (But here I am reading/., so......)

That happened to me too, initially. I thought I just wasn't focussing on it. Then, when I started moving the mouse around (with +mlook, of course....) I realized that it was just difficult to see anything in it. Also, try just seeing your gun in the bottom right corner.... then try to focus on the whole scene.

I don't mean to be devil's advocate here, but MS does actually provide free tools for viewing their office documents - I know of word viewer and powerpoint viewer, I think there may also have been one for excel. Don't know if they're still available, though, but they were about 200kb each, and completely free.
Oh, and I use OO.org under Linux.

...or a DVD, which consts considerably more. Anyway, the plan is that there will be a PC boxed set with linux and win stuff, and a seperate mac package.
-ReK
Well, considering that the game works on linux, I'd assume the windows GL renderer works fine as well. Look in ut2003.ini, it's probably just commented out.

PlanetUnreal has a message from icculus saying that the linux version will be out soon, but 'not tonight' because he's short on sleep and can't concentrate.

Judging by how slow /. can be in publishing news, those 8-bit computers should be hitting the front page any day now....

Creative hasn't decided to open up EAX so that linux drivers can be written, so for now, we're stuck with OpenAL (which isn't too bad anyway). -ReK

Yes, icculus (Ryan Gordon) has said that the linux version will be on the install CD - http://icculus.org/cgi-bin/finger/finger.pl?user=i cculus
There will also be a penguin on the box.
