Trust me your wrong. Any experienced GOOD player does not use scripts, they always interfere. I can switch weapons, fire, jump, etc.. faster then any script can, and I can change my mind in the middle and abort, whereas a script, you can't. As for people who use game glitches, well, your sorta right there, but people over bitc$ about this too.. As far as taking "advantage of the map", that statement is just plain wrong, if your a good player, you SHOULD take advantage of your knowledge of the map, if your good, you will still be able to defeat these players (and possibly use it to your advantage, by knowing what that player is going to do next..). What I really hate are people that accuse people of cheating simply because that someone is MUCH better then themselves. Those people ruin games.

Great post! That's the one problem with getting my friends into online games, they always suck when they start, and rarely last more then 30 seconds. You mentioned some issue's with Counter-Strike. Well I'd like to point your attention to Day Of Defeat - another HL mod. You don't wait more then 15 seconds before re-spawning, you have the option of viewing through teammates eyes (if enable on the server). It's simply amazing. DOD V1 is retail, you can buy it in stores for under $30 and then download any other HL mod. I really can't say enough good things about this game, I've been playing it for 3 years (since the beginning!) and have never grown bored of it

Although it sometimes happens, Team Killing is not much of an issue on DOD as FF=OFF is mostly set, and Team Killers are normally banned quickly and permenantly. I agree with you, Day Of Defeat is simply the best online game, and has been for the past 3 years.

This is a half-life mod similar to Counter Strike, only 1000 X's better. It does not have the cheating issue's that CS has. I have been playing it since the release of Half Life, and it is amazing. Everyone that plays it with me is instantly hooked. I can't say enough good about this game. I have been a gamer since Sierra's earliest days (yes, I still have my original copy of Police Quest 1.).

You need to re-read there agreement, it doesn't say that they own everything you do, it says on there TIME they own. As for this: "design/manufacture/proceedures", because your a TEMP they HAVE to say this, basically it's happened before, that a TEMP has come up with a new way to do the job he was assigned, and the company liked it and started using it, so he sued saying he should get money since it was his idea, yadda yadda yadda.. If your taking a job for under $10 a hour, you are going to get NO WHERE fast trying to make them change there contract. Your a dime a dozen man think about it..

Let him know this is something you do on YOUR TIME, not HIS! If he agree's, you're covered (check local state policies of course).. Besides, unless your idea makes you millions your employer definitely isn't going to spend $$$ chasing it. If your idea could be worth real money, you really should put a PATENT on it BEFORE they hire you..

The reason is simple, they can get the information more readily on VB then the linux kernal. The information needs to be out there, easy to find, and there have to be people willing to learn. One thing that seperates these "kids" from us "adults" is the way they share information with each other, and don't give a crap about money.

The future, professor, the future. Be aware that many of today's finest IT professions/programming created DOS viruses as kids. Of course that sounds crazy, but one of the ways to get kids interested in computers, is to tell them it's wrong, just like sex, drugs, and rock & roll. Maybe it's time to try something different other then "burn them at the stake", as this will just want them to "give the finger to man" even more.
