"Geeks may be angered by this merger, but professional designers are going to be very very happy today."
or not... I'd rather use Freehand over Illustrator. IMHO Freehand is way more user friendly and stable and it fits into my workflow much better than Illustrator because it supports multiple pages per document. If Freehand is tossed it should be made open source. I'd hate for Freehand to die.
Less choice in Graphics app vendors can't be good for the market either. CS3 for $5000?... If you're a graphics pro you'll have no choice but to cough up. It's a SAD day for Graphics pros.
"1. Create playlists while I'm at work. The Zen allows on the fly playlists -- not sure about the iPod, since I don't own one, but I think I remember reading that you can't...?"
I just found quadraSID, this makes me happy. The lack of true analogue filters is still a pain in the ass but it sounds pretty damn close to what I remember of the Sidstation and my old C64.
iTunes actually also has a function that you can use to crossfade tracks so you can have up to -12 seconds between tracks.
Gaps between tracks are not even an issue.
iPods on the other hand have a default gap of 1 second and no current crossfade capability, though I'm sure that will eventually change.
from the article:
"Skype, created by the people who brought you KaZaA, uses innovative P2P (peer-to-peer) technology to connect you with other Skype users."
KaZaA??? I won't touch anything that has any connection to that pile o' shit!

The new models ARE the click wheels. The on-the-go playlist is for ALL iPods with a dock connector.

Sid Emulation :( I want the chip. Damn Sidstation for buying all the chips. Can anyone refer me to a review of how good the emulation is?
If this thing has a SID chip in it I'll buy 10. That chip is the bees knees. I'd love to get a hold of one.

And the regular price for that model is $1599.
You can't use a model that's on sale for a comparison like that!

That's sort of like saying Henry Ford's only success story was the Model T. Wasn't it??
you obviously missed this april fools joke.
