It's almost as if this would set precedent for legally scanning any and all data coming into any United States servers over the Internet, and going out.
I don't remember the name of the game, I must've been 2 or 3 when I played this. I cannot remember anything about the computer I played it on, aside from that the screen only displayed black and a lightish brown color. The game involved a donkey (the player) on a road, and you had to dodge cars, debris in the road, or something, by changing lanes, which you did by hitting the spacebar key. There may have been a way to win, or more levels, but I just don't remember any of that. All I remember is standing on my tiptoes to reach the keyboard in my parents bedroom, straining my head to see above the edge of the cabinet to look at the screen.
I really wish I could remember the name of it, but it was 16 years ago. Less than likely now.
That's the thing. This isn't a serious release candidate. If they released the current version, it would be THE WORST THING THEY COULD DO. It's very feature incomplete. It's a release candidate, but only in name, not in usability.
From that link: Dennis Kucinich is the only candidate to have voted against the Patriot Act. He did something the others should have: He actually read the bill (my emphasis)
I think that right there is a wonderful reason to not vote for the other candidates.
If both of these did not happen, especially if (b) didn't happen, what you would be doing is exposing all non-upgrading users to the full brunt of whatever flaws their might be.
Which just happened. And was pretty much inevitable to happen assuming it wasn't bulletproof from the start. Only now, it's "there's a flaw" rather than "here's a way to fix the flaw!"
FTA: Our source says, "It is definitely being covered under tight wraps. Why else would they go through with all this if they didn't have anything to hide?"
Corollary: "They're definitely not talking. Why wouldn't they talk to the police if they have nothing to hide?"
At this point, they know that anything they say can improve their current situation, so they say nothing to protect themselves from more bad publicity. Seems like this is pretty standard fare for any company?
At least it isn't proprietary junk that doesn't follow standards and tries to shut out the competition. It's a step forward. Just to play through with your argument here (which carries on the other who said "trading crap for crap"), that sounds an awful like saying "Nazi Germany? at least it's a step forward from Communist Russia!"
"For anyone who has to sit at red lights at empty intersections for fear of cops hiding in the bushes or in a parking lot, this would be most welcome."
Simple solution that I've had for several years. A red light is considered a Stop sign.
Now, if you're sitting at the intersection of nowhere street and interstate_highway with a red light, rather than waiting for 10 minutes, you can legally cross. This doesn't remove any traffic lights, instead it simply modifies how they work, and only in a very small way. You get rolling stop signs.
And you have real gold in your wallet? Or do you have a little card that is money only because a computer file somewhere says you have that money? Even real folding money is virtual; what can you use a dollar bill for, other than give it to somebody who'll give you stuff for it?
Sorry, but these things have value in the real world (and don't say anything like, "We're in the Matrix! This isn't the real world!" because I can see that as a likely response). Unlike gold in WoW, money serves a purpose to your everyday life. The very fact that people are selling this virtual money shows that real-world money has value. A "little card" holds real money. That dollar bill stands for real money, all which can be used to buy goods and services. WoW gold gets you a flashy item or better monut, but when you log off, there's no change at all.
I hate to break it to you guys, but so long as the people are moving at the same velocity, there isn't any kind of problem. If all of them had been moving at.999 speed of light (in our point of view), there still wouldn't be a difference, because they are all in the same frame of reference, and they would all measure the speed of light from their point of view to be 3.0x10^8 ms^-1. No doppler effect of the radio waves would be created, and no greater time lag would ensue. It's as if they aren't moving, because according to each other, they aren't!
...such is the outcome of not doing test-driven development. Test the functions as you write them, and just leave the tests there until you release, makes sure everything works. When will these people learn!
How about Windows 2000? I still use it and have no real issues with it, unlike when I've used XP.

I hear getting the first post on a story then editing it to have actual information so you don't look like a douche makes you cool confirm/deny?
Actually, if he'd had enough fanboys to outnumber any other candidates supporters, he would've gotten more votes than the others.
Yea, you gotta watch those holy priests' dps, clearly spends all his time farming gold rather than healing BT raids.

FOOL! Just dial 0118 9.... umm... 0118 865... oh wait, no...

Training 17 hours a day for football? A-Okay!
Training 17 hours a day for Starcraft? NOT OKAY!!!
Inadvertent my ass... They got Title IV Section 408 passed of the DMCA on purpose (http://www.xkcd.com/344/)
It is a theft because the furniture is paid for with real money.
That virtual property has real world value. Hence, theft.

I don't know the law well but there are some places where write in votes count.
Wait, seriously? I was under the assumption that a write-in vote was the same as a vote, rather than a no-vote...

Mod parent up; just because human life would be impossible there doesn't mean any kind of life would be impossible.
I think an appropriate return question would be, "What does the Bank of America of Concord, California have to do with anything?"
I swear, I had to read that 3 times before I stopped seeing "fossilized fuel forest."

It works in my head at least.

Old-fashioned letters in large enough quantities do make a difference.
Unfortunatly, there isn't any time in this case. The vote on the bill is tomorrow, so snail-mail won't make a sliver of difference here and now.
