Of course most of the companies can't afford loosing customers just to follow the standars.
But also even M$ cannot afford loosing customers because most of the web pages follow the standars and their web browser can't render this pages properly.
Also I can say that making a web page that follows all the standars dosen't mean that page will look like crap, just it will look bette with a good browser, and usualy will be seen in most of the browsers.
So we have to realize that "we (the web developers) are the ones showing the path that browsers will follow" and it's in our hands to say how will be all the browsers in the future.
I just want to warn 64-bit clock system users about the problem they will have on GMT 15:30:08, Sunday, December 4, 292,277,026,596 C.E when their clocks will go back to GMT 00:00:00, Thursday, January 1, 1970 C.E what it's about going back too much time...
So the systems will collapse, there will be a big chaos in all the galaxy and most of the systems will become like old IBM's SCAMP or Intel's 4004. I've warned you... the end is coming!!!

One ring to sue them all!!!...
For me one of the most important things in a web is that it follow the standards so it can reach more people.
I've been checking and I've not find any link to the latest versions of the standards.
A web page for web developers must have a big & easy to find link to the actual standards and then some other links to tutorials, tips, etc...
Remember Troubleshooter... The Computer is your Friend!!
And M$ has bought M$N.xxx where you will have the chance of seeing their famous paperclip Naked!!!
