Is it true? Does Microsoft's server products actually force you to run a graphical desktop environment? Is this desktop environment even more bloated than the standard Windows XP one with extra tools everywhere? Is it true you can't turn off the desktop environment and work through either a web based control panel or a command line?
I'm just wondering.
If a company does these things, it's pretty unbelievable that it'd run better than a real server.
PDFs load very nicely for me on my new Macintosh with "Preview". It opens just as if it were a picture, and just as fast. I wouldn't blame the author of the article for a bad PDF application.
To be fair, I write all my sites (which rely heavily on css) to the standards, and then I have to screw with it to get it to work in IE. With my latest site, i've given up trying to support IE due to their poor CSS support, and IE browsers are greeted with a message informing them that CSS has been disabled. I do not believe the viewers care, as it appears to be a text-only site for IE browsers and is still very clean.
I smell a patent. That may answer your question. "Ad supported internet access, broadcasted wirelessly, has been patented" will be on slashdot soon.
really, would you be surprised?
the only reason you bought windows was to use office. Will microsoft offer office for linux, so that you do not have to give them more money for windows? I doubt it. "Lets spend money porting office so that we'll make less money". While a linux port would be benefit for linux, I don't see how thats in microsoft's intrest.
Better question, will microsoft publish information on office so that other office suites won't have to reverse engineer your documents? This could help make microsoft look less monopolistic.
The sites that claim they require Internet Explorer for video, usually can work fine with other browsers but the web developer blocks those browsers. You can get a firefox extension to fake being IE to get into those sites and it will work, but I forget what the name is. The real solution would be a law that prohibits sites from intentionally not working on browsers which follow the standards.
The sites don't get "juggled" in firefox. They look exactly how they are coded to. The site gets "juggled" in internet explorer and doesn't look like its coded to look. Instead, it looks good. Which obviously isn't what the developer was going for, if you look at their code.
adduser.php: <? $user=$_GET['username']; $pass=$_GET['password']; $pass=crypt($pass);// heh, you need to make the password encrypted, this isn't the correct function but i'm too lazy to do all the work for you. system("sudo/folder/adduser.sh " . $user . " " . $pass); ?>
what are you talking about "comeback"? i'm not attempting to insult anyone or go into a fight. it is merely an attempt to inform someone who was apparently uninformed about windows emulation software. I'm sorry for trying to help someone.

insert drive and just do this a good 8 or 9 times as root:
/dev/urandom > /dev/hdb
cat
According to the EULA of the software, I am entitled to a refund if I do not agree with the EULA, which I am unable to read before the purchase.
Didn't they say you'd need 6ghz, and a video card better than that available today? Wonder how this is going to work...

I've recently been getting an FET and regulatory recovery fees on my vonage bill.
And this isn't any more ok than your ISP blocking every other site besides theirs. Especially when they claim to have unlimited service...
What's a virus?
i recommend using gobohide, its what was going to be used in calyptos. check out http://calyptos.com/images/screenies/shot.png

So does this mean that they can get the logs and go after people who have illegal downloaded media?
Even if your right, its more secure today. Should we use Windows because it was more secure 20 years ago?
wouldn't that mean that the other person has a 30% chance? What makes you so special to get the extra 20%?
you can see him trying to copy the mac desktop with the back 2 computers.

If you're having trouble downloading it, you can get it here.
All you need to do is configure sudo to allow apache to do certain things, then call it...

Although I generally create a bash script, and then call it with sudo. For example, to add a user...
adduser.sh:

Its really not that hard to do anything with php.
I screwed up my previous post, sorry about that.

btw i don't support this, its not fair to pepsi. i'm just trying to help someone with bandwidth.
I got it on my site, hopefully i'll save them some bandwidth. All that was there was a directory listing of some images, so i put them up.
Here
that's awsome. I liked google before, it was the only search engine I could stand using. But I didn't know it was that much better, thanks!
I don't think anything dangerous would survive being cremated (or however you spell it).
