Working towards the centre, the amount of data read per revolution gets less and less - you'd need to increase the spin rate in order to get a high enough data throughput for the medium to be useful. But CDs and DVDs are already spinning at their max speed - any quicker than about 52x, and CDs will actually explode.
Metricsmarket.com suggests 180,000 users a month. Judging by sites I've worked with, they tend to be quite conservative - thus multiply that by 1.5 to get a more real figure.
That gives you 270k uniques a month. Which in the current advertising client won't earn you THAT much - if you beg to differ, perhaps you'd like to advertise on gamers europe:>

We got stern looks in the next meeting with Microsoft after we posted our 8.0/10 review of Halo 2, but I'm pretty sure no bribery of any kind went on with Halo 2.

To write about games you have to give two shits about them. Even people I know who write for utterly shite official magazines know their stuff back to the 80s - the reason that so many games magazines are utter turd is that the publishers are convinced that you, the public, want lowest common denominator trash rather than anything interesting, and thus most magazines are pressurized into writing what gets the publishers sales. Rather than bitching about games journalists, why not go out and buy the better examples of it - UK Edge magazine may be pretentious wankers, but they know their stuff.
Apologies to Todd and all, I was very bored and the very first thing I noticed when I read the article (unlike many commenters) was a synonym for onanism. And I'm a sucker for the cheap pun.
On the other hand, he's managing a project like that for Microsoft, he's probably too busy bathing in his lake of cash to care.
To the guy who modded OT - RTFA please. The head of the SP2 project is called Todd Wanke. Deedpoll is the method by which one can legally change their name (in the UK at least).

A more honest review, at least I think so. 9.8 is just bullshit - it's nowhere near as revolutionary as Halo 1.
As much as I hate to appear the karma whore, I think people need to see a more balanced review of the game. Remember, we're putting our bollocks on the line with Microsoft's PR by giving the game below 9/10 - we just felt we had to tell the truth.
I wasn't convinced at first, then I was sent one of these gaming flat panels to review. I wept openly when the courier came to collect it, and I'm meant to be a hardened journalist type.
The 12ms response time means that it's infallible when it comes to blurring, the image remains pinsharp. Plus it weighed a whole 16 kilos less than my current gaming CRT.
I walk up to the machine to get some cash out, only to be confronted by a Windows 9x dialogue box. The cash machine was on a desktop screen, with a dialogue up on the screen.

The point is that Free Software will make Brazil (hopefully) more productive on computers, quicker and cheaper. The way it should be;)
They were a fundemental Islamic government, against mind altering drugs. Of course, your theory could well be right, but it goes completely against what's ostensibly their philosophy.
" So they didn't need the income before the war?" It's called taxes, those things that governments use to get money.
BBC Article from 2002: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia /184018 2.stm
"According to the US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Afghanistan produced more than 70% of the world's opium in 2000"
"In July 2000 the leader of Afghanistan's former Taleban government, Mullah Omar, declared a nationwide ban on opium cultivation for one year.
The United Nations Drugs Control Program (UNDCP) believes the ban was a success, and production plunged to negligible levels during 2001. "
" But with the demise of the Taleban, there are fears Afghanistan will quickly reclaim its status as the world's largest producer of illicit opium."
And surprise surprise, 2003 figures: http://europa-eu-un.org/articles/it/arti cle_3209_i t.htm "in 2003 Afghanistan produced three-quarters of the world's illicit opium"

Of course, there are a few people I know who've gone over there to have ops done. However, in the fact that if you're ill in the UK, you don't even need the "small" amount of $10000 to get treated, means that I prefer our system - people may have to wait longer, but they don't have to wait until they earn the money, or even put off vital treatment to save cash.
As for the rates of tax, for me, when I look at my tax bill, I can at least look at where it's being spent and think - yeah, that's worth it.
I'm not trying to make a compelling argument here, just a bit of personal opinion:)
Needless to say, manymoresources are reporting this already.

"This is one of the most important copyright cases ever to reach this court," the groups said in papers filed with the court.
Yes, but not for the reason the RIAA may think. The point is that filesharing by P2P, as demonstrated by Bittorrent distribution by many companies, is a solution to a major bandwidth problem, and as such it'd be madness to ban it because it can be used to infringe copyright - there's about as much grounds to do so as there is to ban all net file transfer activity.

Windows 3.1 had a very similar looking tutorial on how to use a mouse, if my memory serves me right.
Could anyone elaborate on this recollection?
As much as I hate to do this, he's just plain wrong. It can play on shuffle mode, or a preset, and you can skip forwards and backwards with the keys.

From your article:
"the Taliban reportedly announced that poppy cultivation could resume"
I'm afraid that to make a decent argument, you're going to need to do better than one source "reportedly" saying something.
They were a fundemental Islamic government, against mind altering drugs. Of course, your theory could well be right, but it goes completely against what's ostensibly their philosophy.
" So they didn't need the income before the war?"
It's called taxes, those things that governments use to get money.
Because they're a rebel group now, who need funding.
And opium, being as it is, half of the country's GNP, is quite a handy source of income.
Here's some stuff about the opium trade:

£0, but some serious taxes and a wait on a waiting list.
Even so, I must say I prefer universal healthcare.
Only if you buy the silver version, 59$ :)
