Since crime must be prevented, everything should be shut down to prevent all sorts of crime. Never mind about protests. What about real crimes like bank robbery and murder? Phone shouldn't work, guns shouldn't fire, TVs should turn off, and cell phones, FaceBook, Twitter, should all be silenced. Then there's that whole internet thing... Everyone please just stay home and be safe! Think of the children.
Older customers who would typical buy an "old geezer" car like a Lexus would still play CDs. I agree about the built-in nav systems. Purposely didn't get one for my 2005 MINI because it dominates the center of the dash, costs $1500 and would be obsolete way before I wanted to sell the car. Cars and computer stuff do not age at the same rate I'm afraid.
And he/she has to be allergic to peanuts (thus creating the necessary kryptonite vulnerability plot device). Spiderperson's half-Swedish half-Chinese partner must not be allergic so he/she can save him/her from evildoers. Oh, and Spiderperson should also have asthma that strikes at random dramatic moments.
I don't know where people live that have variable rates for residential electrical power, but in upstate NY it doesn't exist. I have a spinning disk meter and the charges don't account for when power is used. If you have a business, things may be different.
I distinctly remember Dick (evil troll) Cheney saying that the deficit didn't matter. Years later I found out what he meant was it didn't matter as far as getting reelected was concerned: "Reagan proved deficits don't matter," Dick Cheney told Paul O'Neill during a Cabinet meeting. "We won the (2002) midterms. This is our due."
"By "due," Cheney meant that because Republicans won the midterm elections on a platform of more tax cuts and deficit increases, they could pass still more tax cuts and run up still more deficits. Voters knew that a Clinton surplus of $200 billion had been transformed into a $200 billion deficit under Bush (it is now $450 billion), and voted for Republicans anyway. "
So now deficits are bad. I am so confused!
Will Arab countries near Libya please step up and fix problems in your own backyard? It would really save the US and NATO lots of cash and we'll be your best friend. We have enough trouble with Iraq and Afghanistan and Pakistan. You do still have all that oil money? Great. Just checking.
Because businesses like BP and Union Carbide and Enron and Goldman Sachs and Lehman Bros and Countrywide and Roche and Wellpoint and Halliburton and the United Fruit Company and Ford (1914 ethical standards enforcement) and Wal-Mart and IBM (Nazi tech support etc.) are such great examples of corporate citizenship and exercising of their rights. Wouldn't want to infringe on their freedom to maim!
The point of all this.

Debt Deal Reached
·
· Score: 3, Insightful
All this wrangling has nothing to do with the debt or trying to help the economy. Some people were just horrified when Obama was elected and will do anything, even sell their own country down the river, to get him out of office Following Rush Limbaugh logic, conservatives can't be seen as doing anything that might help the president. Hey, if the country defaults, there is a 50% chance Obama will get blamed and might lose the next election! Those odds are good enough for us!
RequestPolicy works as you say, but how is the average user supposed to know whether to allow fsdn on Slashdot or not? Is fsdn safe or not? Who knows? Some sites have 50 domains that provide content and it is not possible to just disallow everything; the site will be nearly blank. It works, but is difficult to use in practice.
The guy in charge says they are not doing anything illegal, so I feel a whole lot better. Sort of like when a bank says they're not doing anything illegal when they send you the 12th set of final mortgage papers and then tell you there's a mistake (for the 12th time) and you have to submit everything again and they've already charged you $80000 in fees... Nope, no problem there.

Using the reciprocity principle I am now convinced I can hear with my eyes.
Gosh thanks for describing all the niches for us. Ewww!
Off with his head! No wait, hang him FIRST.

I don't have time for this.

Prisoner #4 "Hey what happened to #4? I recorded video of a police traffic stop."

Especially if large corps pay nothing and still complain about the high 35% corp tax rate. See: http://blogs.suntimes.com/sweet/2011/03/ten_giant_us_companies_avoidin.html But hey, it's all legal so it must be OK!
How do you buy 100000 lottery tickets anyway?
GE paid no corp taxes. See: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/general-electric-paid-federal-taxes-2010/story?id=13224558 If you don't pay any tax, what difference does it make if the tax rate is 35%?
Government of Somalia is EXTREMELY corrupt. US government is corrupt, but manages to maintain its amateur status.
Amazingly, mine says the same thing! Trying to use that bit of information to avoid giving out your number is never taken seriously though.
And there is a third group that does not believe that massive waves should wear rouge. But I see your point.

Sorry, wrong answer AC. And anyway, govt. spending is controlled by congress. See the following: http://mariopiperni.com/republican-madness/the-one-chart-which-explains-the-debt-ceiling-crisis-best.php and also here: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/ezra-klein/post/obamas-and-bushs-effect-on-the-deficit-in-one-graph/2011/07/25/gIQAELOrYI_blog.html

It's still Hillary.

Recycling lawyers. Returning them to the primordial ooze from whence they came. I like it except for the slight lead contamination.
