  1. Re:Google-plexed on China Blocking Access to Google News Site · · Score: 1

Well, you have to remember that the google is in it for money. Any company is about that. The "You can make money without doing evil"-thing will bow away to realities of making money and marketshare. If google did not censor their site they would be totally blocked. When totally blocked they would loose the ability to reach extremly many ( http://www.iiasa.ac.at/Research/LUC/ChinaFood/data /pop/pop_9a.htm ) people available there. Then someone else would step in...

Yes, 10% is low, but a damm good begining. Actually any single product does not have to have the 25% marketshare, only that IE has less than about 75%, be the others as many as they may. Basically that would force the webdesigners to aknowledge there is a sizable non-IE share.

Market share actually has a bearing on many companies thinking. If you propose a soplution and they ask how many use it, and the response is 1% or 10%(though currently only 7%) there is a mental difference. A 1% means a marginal thing. a 10%+ means a viable alternative.

I think you are missing the point.

Today I can easily send mail seemingly coming from any domain. The idea with this is that the sender can be verified to come from the named domain. Ie. To stop domain spoofing.

Ofcuourse spamers can set up domains for the purpose of sending Spam, but they will be easier to track, as you can be sure the sender is actually connected to that domain.

Further many of todays Scam pretend to come from your bank, sent with authentic Email address. With this, if you get email from the bank, you can be sure atleast that the email came from the email server of that bank (though as usualy you should be careful)
