    Why didn't he just use water cooling? The only advantage I can see for using fans is the optional blue leds he would use to be spotted by cars at night while he rides his bicycle.

    StorageTek is well connected with many other storage providers and some of their products are becoming of interest to the mainframe guys where I work. Future products to encrypt data going to tap using hardware will definitely increase their profitibility, if those products ever come out (suppose to come out 2006 last I heard). This is certainly a big buy for Sun.

    Yea, because we all know that inhouse developers scrambling to meet an inhouse deadlines build better code. I mean, you do 1 year of work in 3 months, not bad. Of course you get a bonus double that of last years, from $25 to $50.

    Now that's progress.

    I agree, it is not a novel concept that is deserving of a patent.

    Just a little nitpick, the patent says that it uses icons to differenciate the different kinds of addresses, not text manipulation.

    No, I've been too busy making artificial diamonds so that I could connect them to my new GPU to squeeze out that extra percentage of performance, so that I could calculate just how many LoC per-second I could transfer using BPL.

    I agree completely. That comparison is completely off-base and ignores completely the contributions that Red Hat has made BACK into the community. Red Hat does not simply repackage the innovations of others like MS does (and as hinted to in that article). I hate it when people spread such lies.
