  1. Happens to me... on How to Avoid Mobile Phone Interference w/ Speakers · · Score: 1

This happens to me all the time with my Cingular/ATT GSM Phone(s). RAZR V3 and MPX220 whenever it's within 2 feet of the Klipsch Pro Media Satellite speakers. Does not happen with my Sprint PPC6700 at all. Haven't had my phone(s) close enough to my home theater setup to notice if it affected that equipment.

I don't think you read the article. People like you and me who buy gift cards cannot use them because the funds have been emptied by hackers. So, they aren't paying them out twice, the average Joe is getting scammed out of the money.

  3. For starters... on Ring-Tone Barons? Japanese Record Companies Raided · · Score: 3, Insightful

They need to make new phones come with NORMAL standard ring tones. Not fairy tale musicals, no rotary style ring rings, how about a decent sounding 'ring ring' eh? The fact that I had to use Adobe Audition and pieces of a midi ringtone to make my 'ring ring' is an outrage. As far as musical ringtones from MP3s some phones support MP3 ringstones and more often than not, WAV ringtones. If you're lucky enough to have a smartphone, well you're like me and have a LOT more freedom over ringtones on your phone. MP3 > edit > drag drop > set as tone > done! Hell, I just got a freeware DiVX player for my cell phone :)

Is there any known fix for burn in? If it costs $500 to fix burn in and you get a plasma screen for $200, I'd say it's well worth it. But, I'm sure that won't be the case anyway. I bid on one. If i win and can't fix it... It's a very pretty broken wall decoration. 50" Pioneer Plasma! sheesh!

  7. Re:Oh god... on Cell Phone Ringtones Give Music Industry Another Headache · · Score: 0

I agree with this 100%. I can't stand hearing shitty music everytimes someone's phone rings and I'm even more upset that my own mobile phone did NOT come with a NORMAL sounding ring. I had to make my own NORMAL ringtone :( The only thing worse than hearing the blaring of pop-garbage is hearing idiots with Nextels running aroung having full on conversations on speaker-phone. For fucks sake people, push the button for private 2 way. I don't want to hear about what you and Mookie are doing after you're done grocery shopping. Both musical ringtones and PPT are bad in my personal opinion :\

  9. Elderly + Computers = Bad Combination on Worst Explanation From Tech Support? · · Score: 2, Funny

I was in Hawaii in September last year, and after a long day I decided it would be relaxing to sit in the hotel hot tub for a while.

It was fine for a while, then some elderly woman got in at the same time (which was a bad enough sight itself) and she decided to make conversation. Well, the topic came up of me being a 'computer guy' but nothing really came of it.

Then, some elderly old man joined the party (remind me not to stay in that hotel ever again) and made conversation with the elderly woman, and somehow got on the topic of computers again, so this man asked if I could help him with a problem. I figured, hey... I'll be nice.

He said to me, "Ok, I'm using Microsoft W-O-R-D (He spelt out Word :\) not Works and I'm in a document but I can't get it to be lowercase. I've called Dell and they can't fix it either."

I'm trying not to laugh, and think a bit... Automatically assumming its the CAPS LOCK key, he said he tried that so I then tried explaining Format and Paragraph settings changes which got me nowhere.

I guess it would be funnier if you'd been there. The man spelling out W-O-R-D was probably the highlight of it all.

    Some vacation :\
