  1. Re:Amusing, but... on E3 Movie Cache Highlights Microsoft's Apprentice Spoof · · Score: 1

Oh trust me their are losses. And for those who wan't most support for their platform of choice MS losses hurt these individuals because they mean less games and less support from top name publishers, and a dimmer future for the X-Box. About the Donald Trump video. This is an example of what I really didn't like about E3 this year, both MS and Sony seemed to cater more to celebrities and gimicks then to the people who made them what they are today. The gamers.... Also funny is how they would show Donald Trump firing the most successful people in console gaming today, a group representing a company that is so far ahead of everyone else in terms of user-base, and amount of content its nearly insurmountable. Perhaps this is why Donald Trump is stuck using gameshow winners to run companies for him. Ofcourse it was all a low blow joke by a second best company but it is still annoying none the less. They could have spent that money they used (both MS and Sony) for hiring celebrities to endorse products on entertaining the gamers.

This news is all well and good and I hope one day I can let go of my Windows XP Pro install in favor of Linux only, however as I see it their is obviously lots to be done. Linux needs more support, easier graphics card driver installs, better graphics card drivers from both ATI and NVIDIA (im talking about full Windows GUI like control panels and so fourth,) and ofcourse lots and lots of games and support from the developer community. Until this happens I and many of us that play lots of PC games will be forced to keep our Windows installs for maximum compatibility and ease of use with most of the games we enjoy.

Yes thats the guy finkployd, its interesting that even with all the facts against the company all of the beta testers still support the company reguardless. Their were even a few of them on their now entirely closed forums (even to beta testers) that believed that they were official employees of the company since they were "Admins" on the forums. Im amazed at what a group of kids can be led to believe, most all of the beta testers were apparently just a bunch of children who argued in the defense of something they knew little to nothing about on the word that they were going to be involved in some as of yet mythical beta test By the way Reducto the preorder date has now changed from March 31st to "soon" I assume it dosn't bother you at all that the company is again apparently changing its plans. Not to mention that all of the hardware providers and other companies partnered with Infinium Labs are no longer credited on the companies website (they listed AMD and NVIDIA among others, yet none of these companies issued any press releases stating they were involved with Infinium.) I've also come upon information from former employees, if true it practically destroys any chance of success that this machine may have had. some snippits include: -Complete do over of the interface as of February 1st. -Firing of key employees who were working on UI and streaming technology. -Kevin Bachus taking control of the company by pushing once high end staff down to nothing roles and replacing them with his friends from his recent failed business venture and other areas. -Reports that employee paychecks bounced regularly and that severance pay was only a fraction of what was promised. -I have even heard that top officials of the company snorted cocain at he "Phantom Penthouse" during CES with potential investors in lieu of a normal business meeting. Its interesting to hear of that last one since most people have speculated at one time or another that the company directors are "on something" because of their seemingly outlandish and unviable ideas. I must admit though that the above informaion in the - list is speculation. I will look for any information I can from credible sources that either proves my inside contacts information or refutes it and publish the results. Thanks for reading!

Nicely worded email, however it is unlikely you will get a response anytime soon. As far as release dats go, they change rapidly. It was end of 2003 for awhile, then the preorders were going to be ready in January, then February the beta was going to start, now March. Let us not forget that Kevin Bachus says the hardware isn't even finalized and that it could change at anytime. (I wonder why they keep the logos of AMD and Nvidia up if their participation is undecided upon at this point.)

Also take notice of the fact that the "Phantom forums" (which did actually exist at one time are now offline. http://forum.phantom.net/ It says they have will be relaunching soon, that was first posted weeks ago. I was a poster at that forum for several months, the forum was likely taken down due to the influx of people asking for honest answers and the fact that Infinium couldn't give them, which made Infinium look all the more foolish. No official response from Tim Roberts (who posts on the forums) was ever given to Penny Arcade's comments, and most questions wen't undanswered, the mods they had there couldn't work fast enough to delete, and close topics which contained lagitimate criticism or asked for honest answers. I find it strange that they can make demands of others in reguards to negative articles and so fourth, but when simple demands of what should be common information are made of them, they close the boards and go silent.

That is something unlikely to happen. I have posted on their closed Phantom forums for quite sometime now and Hard OCP is often discussed. No one from the company or any of the supporters can offer any sort of official counter to much of anything said in the article. So far all they seem to complaign about is Tim's age being posted wrong, not a very good case for a defamation lawsuit if you ask me. They ignore inquaries into counter claims for the rest of the article. They also threaten to ban anyone who speaks of Hard OCP on their forums, most people who are skeptical rutinely have their posts deleted, censored, closed, or ignored. For the longest period of time you couldn't even link to the Hard OCP article in question, any mention of Hard OCP on the boards was displayed as Hard Opinionated corrupt propaganda which is amusing since that statement can easily be turned around to apply to them. The only thing close to an official response given by the company was posted on the forums, it was taken down a short time later probably due to the fact that all it basically said to the members was "They are lying, trust us." In short Infinium seems to be a lousy excuse for a competent company, can't answer to criticism, can't produce a product, can't explain exactly how projected product will work etc, It is amusing to confront the few diehard fans they have on the boards with hardcore facts though, something I shall continue to do until honest answers to my questions emerge.
