Of course people are going to screw up the connecting of an arrow: that election form has a terrible design.
It is dead obvious that the district head of elections doesn't feel that the election is worth calling in someone with a solid record of excellence in form design.
I suppose that's no surprise. More and more, it looks like the USA doesn't take its elections and democracy seriously. And, no, guys, that's not a troll: it's a fact.
Opera's got a kiosk mode that effectively locks-down access to various components. The design for this is built right into the software: it's not some kludge. I think if you were to do a little bit of RTFM, you'd probably find it has what you need moreso than FireFox.
Imagine finding out that Kerry's speechwriter is the same guy as Bush's speechwriter. One guy writing two wholly different scripts; ignore how difficult that would be, and focus on the shock of realizing one guy ultimately decides what either of them is to say.
It would be a little unnerving, to say the least.
Same sorta thing about Bush and Alliwa. A little unnerving that the guy who is running Iraq is in lockstep agreement with Bush, right down to the cute catchphrases.
The image of a muppet with a human up its ass comes to mind, as one man is controlling two leaders. Not so sure that's a very wise idea, especially as that puppeteer wasn't elected for the job.
No. It gives the people of that country the right to pretend that they're electing their own leaders, who will go on to effect the policy the USA desires.
I was unaware that Opera had changed ad providers, and I am appalled that they have chosen an advertising system that relays one's browsing habits to a third party.
By god. I can't believe they did such a thing. There was such an outcry in the first iteration of their sponsor-based browsing, which it turns out didn't share URIs with the advertisers, that I thought for sure they'd never do such a thing.
Y'know, there's probably a great website to be had by seeking out the old Byte magazine Circuit Cellar columns and putting them online. All the more great if you were to check parts availability and update anything that would be difficult/expensive to do now.
People they put into the red area are abandoned to die.
Fuck, that's harsh. One of the many reasons emergency room work is among the highest-stress occupations, I'm sure. I dunno how anyone could bear to make that sort of decision.
Colour me innocent, I guess, but has this "file spoofing" tactic worked at all? I certainly haven't noticed any great flood of mislabelled/not-working files.
So it's like Opera, then, were the name I type into the addressbar is run through www.x.com,.net,.org,.edu,.ca,.bc.ca, and whatever else I care to configure in...
(it'll also cycle variations in lieu of www, 'cept that afaik, there aren't any really common ones. I guess perhaps I could add sourceforge to the list.0

I'm just a lowly Canuck, so I can't claim as to have been paying a great amount of attention to what's going on with that smaller country beneath us, but my general impression is that the two US candidates are far more focused on 30 year-old war records instead of things like, oooh, say the economy, or healthcare, or foreign affairs, or education, or...
The true purpose of schooling, according to Gatto, is to produce an easily manageable workforce to serve employers in a mass-production economy. Actual education is a secondary and even counterproductive result since educated people tend to be more difficult to control.
Hate to piss on the parade, but this is exactly what they teach in Education Foundations 101, History of Education. At the University of Alberta, at any rate.
Wal Mart data mines (last I read, they had the largest database of consumer purchases on the planet) and these cards are clearly an integral part of their data capture system.
This is another neat thing about gift cards, in addition to the interest-free loan the purchaser makes to the company, and the lost value over time of card dollars due to inflation.
By using good data mining techniques, you can identify what products these gift cards are most likely to be used to purchase and how long it will be before that purchase takes place.
WalM*rt can then use your money to purchase a product for you just in time to sell it to you at a marked-up price! Make this system sophisticated enough and they become nothing more than a glorified FedEx, adding no value whatsoever to the product.
If the proper solution is, quote, to give him money, endquote, then wouldn't reducing his tax be the way to do it?
No wonder you're having trouble understanding your moral framework.

Jesus, talk about fooling themselves.
To run yet another clarification across the line:

Maybe it's just me, but I hardly ever look a gift horse in the mouth.
OMG. I APOLOGIZE!
I was unaware that Opera had changed ad providers, and I am appalled that they have chosen an advertising system that relays one's browsing habits to a third party.

Shameful.
Sorry, parent poster. My bad. Opera bad, too.
No it doesn't. Don't be an asswipe: spreading FUD like that is a lousy tactic.

If I'm laid out bleeding to death, I'll take the quick.
In all other cases, I'll take quality.
In no circumstance will I ever want my healthcare to be delivered as cheap'n'nasty as possible.

Jebus! It's like a whore's drawers... first he's on, then he's off, then he's on again.
The US electoral system is teh funnys.
Is this like ye olde bounties on ye rats and snakes and stuff, where you got paid for the skins?
If so, I'm in, dammit. Killin' me some spammers would make my year!
UTILIZE IS A BULLSHIT WORD.
Gahd. I've been driven to the breaking point. I can't stand it silently any more.
"Sun is still free to USE what they wish."
"..how do they USE this provision?"
See how that makes more sense, reads easier, and doesn't make you sound like a self-impressed git?
The word "utilize" is a bullshit word. Don't use it.
Sun would obviously not want to be held responsible
So they signed an agreement that DOES allow MS to hold them responsible?
That hardly makes sense.
... hold an election, and the world laughs at you.
Really, guys, that's no way to have a democracy.

So, what exactly would they debate?
German effort, eh?
I guess that's why they didn't port Wolfenstein.

I didn't realize it was some sort of secret.
Top 25 US Stories not reported by the US media. Some other nations media may well have covered this stuff.
It was a poor attempt at humour. Don't laugh.
