    Anyway, how am I to recreate /lib without these tools?

    I wouldn't call rpm and deb proprietary formats, either. They're cpio and ar archives respectively.

    Also, distributions could not install as quick if they had to run configure for every package they were to install.

    Looks like they do have a mirror.. but it's not listed on the download page. It got fully /.'d now, and I can't get to the mirror list! :(

    Anyone grab the list before it pooped out on us?

    They don't use diffs, because the changes between revisions often contain a lot of formatting differences.. so the diff is pretty much the same size as the entire thing.

    Another three hundred gets you into a cheap set-top DVD player.

    Just wanted to let you know that I got a fairly decent set-top DVD player for $155 USD here in Pennsylvania.

    (slashdot is having problems, sorry if this got submitted more than once)

    I don't think you understand the roaring mass of people who want starcraft ported.

    Just because it's new doesn't mean it's fun. Starcraft is one of the best games I have ever played, and has a lot of life left in it.

    I know a lot of people are waiting for my "official" response to the SI release. However, I'm still studying the ramifications of the SI license.

    I'm hesitant to endorse any code migration between the SI and Mesa code bases until the implications of the licensing are completely clear. The issues of tainting and copyright ownership have to be well understood first.

    Well, I usually find mp3's of groups I might be interested in.. and in the end I almost always buy the cd. It helps me stay away from one-hit wonders.

    I don't think that is a very good statistic. I certainly wasn't polled. Perhaps 50% of the people who actually responded to the poll were female. Just because you don't subscribe to gaming magazines doesn't mean you are not a gamer. I don't think there's any good way to accurately determine the percentages.
