I don't think Apple owns the patent on "zooming". It is prominently featured on the Microsoft Surface, HP coffee table, and an early concept multitouch screen.

It's true enough, and worse is that they are not going to be responsible for restoring your system if it does in fact get hosed.
The ribbon was the wrong way of doing things. The UI concept of Vista and 7 is based on searching - as in you search in the start menu for the application you want. Why shouldn't office behave that way? Instead of hunting high and low for what you need, giving up and then using the online help to key in the terms of the function you already had a name for, why not just key in that name in an application-specific search bar?
Seems to be a rare case when someone can't download from Live - Microsoft collects money and provides a premium service with reliable uptime in this case. How on earth did he decide it's Microsoft's fault his internet is shitty?
For as many student that go through the school are students not bred into the Microsoft culture and not dependent on their software to be productive. This is not good news to them.
I'm gonna waste my mod point here, but by your definition I could call gold farming an art. That is just as surely the making of something (money) from nothing (a WoW account and trust in Blizzard not to take your gold away).
I don't even know where to begin with this... When you say "they", do you mean that everybody in the country has the same mindset, that they all want to shoot you and steal your things? Out there are people needing help. The fact that they are surrounded by thugs makes it more urgent. And yet you want to run at the first sign of adversity. Also, the homeless you've always had with you, even in times of no disaster. If you haven't lifted a finger to help them then, chances are, you're not going to do a thing now.
You laugh. What exactly is.NET? To some it's a programming platform. To others it's a marketing term. I remember the time when Microsoft wanted to tie everything to the.NET name, including their server 2003 platform, hotmail accounts, visual studio. And it was made all the more confusing since.net was already a TLD. Whereas the development team followed through, the marketing team... gave in. Now we have LIVE, as in Xbox LIVE, your LIVE account, Windows LIVE... Marketers. Seriously, kill yourselves.
Turns out that when you say multiple, quite often you mean 2. I like the Win7 snap feature, where you drag a window to the side to take up 50% of the screen - it makes drag and drop easy, and it also makes it easy to see 2 windows side by side, no overlap. I use it often, and have not needed a third window in there (although if i did, i'd be pretty annoyed, since Windows no longer has the ability to tile multiple windows)
Our savior from this scenario? The RIAA, MPAA and global affiliates. By holding Apple at arms length from total control over sales of videos and music, Apple was forced to cut their store into Apps and iTunes. In my country the iTunes deal is stalled, not available. Ah well, not that I would buy any of that crap.

Here's a suggestion - be a redneck. Carry a gun and use it often. If people are trying to get you killed, you can do the same to them.
What I don't understand about the multi-touch patents is what it covers. Didn't Apple (along with Microsoft and HP when they made their tables) just copy their multi-touch from a concept implementation done a few years before, long after the existing patents on multi-touch had expired?
Who wants a free market for phones? Only the consumers. There's a reason why your provider only sells you phones locked into their service, it's so that you are not free to migrate to another provider when you want. Over here where such practices are illegal, I'm having a hard time understanding your grief, since I've never owned a locked phone, but I can imagine it is pretty much a pain.
It's a sad point for me that I only got to see a really starry night once in my life, in the middle of the south china sea, and I'm not likely to see it ever again. The dark skies project may sound nice and all, but it's unlikely to ever come to reality.
How about the plotholes? No, you can't has your nuclear weapons but here's five bucks, buy a shield and lasgun and you can make your own WMD.

It's been awhile since the N-Gage version 1. Haven't you any forgiveness in your heart?
Oh, that's about as funny as a screen door on a battleship.

Stellar? It's done a martian job, didn't you RTFS?

Shares and the like are not wages or income. If they could tax you when the value goes up, could you tax them when the value goes down?
It's a Mac in black?

By this logic their next version of Windows will be called "Windows 8 SP1"
Well the way it is in the movies is kinda disgusting - Spiderman ejaculates from his wrists all over the city. Who's gonna clean that up?

What's in it for Dyndns? Why buy over a competitor fielding free services? And what can we expect in the medium to long term?
OT, but do you know of anyone named Dick anymore? Like Elvis and Adolf, it's no longer a name mothers would choose for their children.
