When the value of advertising goes down, eventually advertising will die out altogether. We've more or less proved that blocking the ads isn't enough to convince those S&M people that they're not getting through, who knows if the opposite might work? I say give it a try anyway.
Heard of this one? "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink". People don't _want_ to know how to avoid getting hit by spyware and the lot, why would they, when they could just whore out their ugly sisters to some tech geek?
Well I don't know about that. To get the news as filtered through the mindset (brainwashing) of the times, you turn to CNN. To get the impressions left upon people by the outcome of these events, a historical record of people's opinions, and how they may be reinforced, or changed, over time, a wiki seems quite appropriate. I believe the versioning history will show how interesting, controversial and important any particular piece of news is. You read the entries, then make up your own mind about how you feel.
Please wait, you are being redirected to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie, the home page of Internet Explorer, the most secure web browser available.
Please note that there is a site with a similar address which contains content which is not suitable for windows users. If you are over 18 and do not want to go to Microsoft's Internet Explorer site, please click here now http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/
Feer.
These features are already available as third party plugins. What you are really looking for is having these features installed by default (or maybe through windows update). Not going to happen for years, if ever. And you'll have to upgrade your windows version to get it.
In the context of your statements then it may be important to realize that many Microsoft Server products, most notably Exchange 2003, do _not_ require IE anymore, although certainly the behavior of Outlook Web Access is more enjoyable in IE than in FF. In fact, in my organization I've only needed IE for windows updates and Software Update Server to work properly. Is this the sign of a paradigm shift over at Redmond?
You're missing the point here. _I_ may not want to install it on a public computer, but _I_'m not the administrator of that computer anyway. This means that when I use the computer, I have to trust that the admin neither installed the toolbar, nor allowed any users to do so. It's either that or never access the internet away from home again.
AFAIK, Windows doesn't have any difference in functionality no matter how many processors you run, it's all about speed. Why should I have to pay for 2 servers when I'm only running 1? Is this some kind of speed tax?
What the guy is describing in the article (yes, i did rtfa) is best implemented in a netnanny-like service that blocks out all the sites rated high on the bullshit scale. Hell, give me the porn I _asked_ for, not this dickgirl crap.
Just curious, but why can't you bill for these hours? The flaws were no fault of yours, and you don't have to bear the consequences of every flaw of every Microsoft product - otherwise you'd be providing support for free until the day you die.
The success of Google, and the foray of other entities into the search engine market should have proved one thing to marketing people all over: if you want to advertise on the web, you got to make your customer come to you, not the other way round. So the death of push advertising need not mean the death of marketing altogether, but rather it's transformation into something more meaningful.
Pretty soon they'll get wise and start deleting Ad-aware (and list it on their EULA so you can't bitch about it)

The fuel in question here is the Internets! Lots of Internets are being burned away!

We reject the can-toi
Well I usually pronounce it as Fa-Q....
Now for them to impose legislation that makes it illegal for people to remove spyware, especially when it was installed with a court order...
There I will sing all their names
