  1. Re:Watching lightening...up close on When Lightning Strikes · · Score: 1

I have lived in Tucson all my life.

True story. A few months ago, a friend was hiking with his two sons and some other 12-14yr old Boy Scouts. A good little zapper nailed a tree about 60 feet in front of them on the trail. The boys were spread out, and the ones with my friend did the right thing and immediately hit the ground. There were two boys walking further ahead (and closer to the blast) who did not. They saw the flash and heard the earsplitting boom and turned tail and ran backwards for about 300 yards screaming their heads off like little girls.

For pre-early teenage boys, this was mortifying. Their compadres got a good hoot out of that.

Why not do both? At least for me, it is quite a bit easier to jump into a game of UT for 10 minutes or so before work or organize a COD game with some friends at 2 AM. Paintball generally requires more planning. They are different, its like comparing Pepsi to beer.

You know, you are absolutely right. When the next chimaera from Redmond is released with the WMP10 music store, it is going to get some serious use out of the average PC user. These technophobes are going to use the obviously inferior MS service just because it is already there and they are afraid of being sued by using anything else (even if they pay for it!).

A testament to that is looking at your less savvy friends'/family members'/co-workers' computers and staring at IE. Even if you tell them of alternatives, they are terrified to install it. One even asked me if Firefox was legal to use, because it wasn't Microsoft!

You have a long way to go folks.
