    Regardless of details, the point remains that MS will argue that their current actions are not in violation of whatever the settlement ends up as, and will lock that down in appeals for ages, making it all depressingly pointless.

    MS didn't do anything to kill Be? So the whole issue with forcing OEMs to have only Windows bootable after several had negotiated with Be to have dual-booting systems really was MS trying to be a friendly neighbor?

    Yes, Nike employs people. These people have the right to go and say whatever they want in their own capacity. However, there are limits to the sort of speech an employee is allowed to make in his capacity as an employee representing the corporation. Your perception of the attitude of /.ers comes directly off of this. It's not hypocritical to want real people to have more rights than pages of accounting information. Nice strawman, though.

    I just ordered some German music from Amazon.de, and the free shipping is only good in Germany. The shipping to the USA is pretty cheap, though.

    No board will make everyone happy, if you have all those old peripherals you're not on the cutting edge anyway, and the board isn't aimed at you, there are plenty of others to choose from. This is what I've been dreaming of.

    No headphones, lots of speakers and yelling at each other. Makes it feel a lot more real with battle noise from all around.

    This I don't understand. I'm 6 foot, average hands for my height, and the XBox/Dreamcast controllers are the most comfortable I've ever held... I can't STAND the Playstation controllers, they wrench my fingers to hit the triggers and the handles are shaped wrong.

    Wow, we did that with Quake in high school, only it was during class, and then up here in college we did that with UT last year probably 3 times a week for over a semester. You want to talk about the history of gaming from your little circle of friends? 2+ X-Boxes is nothing compared to a half-dozen or more PCs...

    That's really odd, cause for me 2k would boot up and only be using a little less than 64 megs, and I didn't do any crazy optimizations... Now XP sucks down 96 on boot for me, but not 2k.

    The main point of the books is the destruction of the ring, and it was made VERY clear that this was the first of 3 movies. How could you possibly expect it to finish in the first one?
