While corporate America likes to outsource overseas, the armed forces do not and they are not likely to allow their contractors to do so either. The last company I worked for handled only military contracts and we couldn't even get clearances for an engineer from India that was in the U.S., much less one that was still in India. For battlefield support, it isn't going to happen.
How about an Indian engineer who has an American name?
That tirade actually proofs why same-sex marriages are not so good idea.
STFU.
What's wrong with gay marriages? I don't get it. And what's with all that racism I see everywhere? Words like "nigger" and "chink" flying all around game channels?
What, the American youth today has shitty upbringing?
Anyhow, if the American govt would just outlaw the LLC, and force disclosure of all proprietry software into the public domain... well, that'd be the great act of mankind. Who cares about gay marriages!
"that RM -Rf is not reversibale and causes more damage whiel Format C actually only changes the first letter of the file name in the allocation table."
Nope! Wrong answer! It really erases the FAT and save a copy onto the last track of the disk. But i'm not so sure about that even
Make them earn their passage by doing some programming along the way. Set up the food dispensers so that if you don't work, you don't eat. That will keep them occupied!
What if their landing gear module drivers have a null pointer exception while they are entering the martian atmosphere?
A bit cynical, I know, but I've been disappointed by NASA for 30 years now; I watched Armstrong set foot on the moon when I was eight and was told that we'd be on Mars by the mid-80's. By the time I got out of high school, we were trapped in LEO by the shuttle. Things like this worry me because they can keep us waiting for a "perfect" solution for a loooong time...
Well.. if you just accept the fact that we have never set foot on the moon, it isn't that disappointing!
Let's see: No real moon landing = that required level of process not attained = we are still trying now!
No biggie.
Besides all the technology in the US of A can't make a flag flutter on the moon the way it does on earth!
I guess they decided that they don't need to bother about the linux version.. some schmark would most likely start a little spot in sourceforge and do the work for them =)
Nowadays I'd always see these little posters around the computer labs in uni reminding users that downloading pirated stuff is illegal and that we can be jailed for it yadda yadda..
Needless to say every machine is now firewalled like nuts now.
If that's the case the namespace will be extremely small, so what will happen to preexisting collisions like redcross.com & redcross.org (for instance)? Nah, it will never happen.
Just thinking about the problems make my mind boogle
It's on wired for god's sake!
If an iraqi fighter DOES give that order like you said.. then.. well, the US has superior tanks and planes don't they?
Slashdot is just helping to remove the imbals and hax from this war! We are still doing a good thing!
That sucks in contrast to the US, well.. you see, saddam did take almost 10 years to do that.
OTOH, Bush himself probably has the blood of 100,000 on his hands in just 2 years.

How about we insert one more instruction?
1) Scan you down to the atomic level
2) Transmit the billions of petabytes of data to the receiving station
if (!person.name.equals("George W Bush")) {
3) Rebuild you from the atomic level-up from the transmitted data
4) Confirm you'd been built correctly
}
5) Vaporize or otherwise annihilate the source person
"survival of the not-quite-fittest"
Alrighty, it already happens in America, what else is new?

Look on the bright side, in four more years Bush can never be president again!!!
What makes you think that in 4 more years there will still be an America?
Mod me up insightful man.. but remember what Usama said?
and I'm proud to be an American.
:)
Yes yes yes... you are your opinions. And I am very proud that I'm not you, nor am I an American
I place my CDs on the third side.
Likewise I stand on my third leg...
I wear glasses with glass lenses
works great for me, but if you want to consider it.. STOP STEPPING ON YOUR GLASSES!
I can forsee the military covering their tanks and vehicles with these AOL CDs..
On the keypad there is only A, B, C, and D, what about the rest? How do you type on this?
What exactly is hatecrime? There is no hatecrime, only thinkcrime!
This is the same problem that I have too.. AMD has good chips, but very poor chipset support.
Intel has shitty chips, but their chipsets are good.

Yeap, you said it, it LOOKS nicer.
But on storagereview.com forums, many are saying how its performance is really sucky.
I have not tried it yet, and will soon be in the market again to move on to the latest PCI-e SATA II controller, but 3ware... I'd pass.
Currently I'm using a LSI Logic card, very good.
LSI Logic are the guys who made Megaraid, so they do know their stuff.
I've also used an Adaptec before, pretty fine card too.
I guess they decided that they don't need to bother about the linux version.. some schmark would most likely start a little spot in sourceforge and do the work for them =)
The beauty of OSS!
The RIAA really changed the climate a lot..
:(

Way to go RIAA
Look at ICQ
almost 10 years and STILL better
Come on, how about windows? Is it beta?
Beta is no reason to produce shoddy code like that.
It will never work out.

Besides new TLDs = money to be made for ICANN
Yes. .per for personal sites, but it never caught on.
The last two support calls I made were total waste of time. 9 days to get a broken hard drive replaced!
Good Lord!
You stayed on the phone for NINE straight days?! Jeez!
Who knows... the next SuSE feature list might be:
New and Improved Solitaire 3D!
