    a friend of mine does this 3-4 times a year. Buys a printer, 3 months down the road finishes the ink or it dries out. He then goes out and buys the next model up because it's now cheapter than buying 2 cartridges. It's crazy...


    Then what happens to the old printers?!?

    Like they sell you a connection with say, 10GB downloads a month for $39.95.

    Well, for an mp3 player, 499$ is not only on the extremely high side, but does anyone seriously need to pay 30% more to get photo display capabilities?

    And of course there is the traditional Apple Premium that we all know and love.

    I'd say a equivalent iRiver player will do the job just as well and support OPEN FORMATS too! Like Ogg and FLAC!

    Hans Moravec's book "Robot" suggests that 100 teraflops is about the level required for human intelligence. So we are up to 10% of his target. But human intelligence still seems very far away, so either he has badly underestimated, or our collective programming skills need significant improvement.

    Judging from the fact that Australians voted for John Howard as Prime Minister.. Nah! Not gonna need that much!

    You will be surprised how it WON'T work out for Visa/MC. With eBay being the owners of Paypal now, it is really hard to see why a new competitor can snatch sales away from the service that is so well integrated into eBay

    2ndly, let's admit it, Americans are all fucking lazy. Do you think the millions and millions of paypal members would want to sit down in from of their computers, and sign up at a new website, then wait for some confirmation code thing in their credit card bill?

    Why the hell would they want to do that? It is not like anybody is gonna use the new service in the first place.

    The sad truth is.. human life is cheaper than all these fancy toys - up to a certain extent of course, but for "small numbers" of 10000 men or so, it'd be way cheaper to have the govt send real men out to get fragged and then have some "do your duty for the nation, please have sex more often" ad campaigns than to build 10000 of these drones.

    Just my 0.00002c =)
