YouTube reviews are making it more and more tempting. The price point seems a bit high for what it is, but as everyone here has shown me, there's nothing else out there that is really comparable if a device like that is what you need.
I love Linux, though it's not my religion, as it becomes for some users. I spent lots of time on the Eee with its included Xandros botch job (you had to edit text files to add icons for new apps you'd installed), and tried various other distros from the era. I was very active on EeeUser.com back then. I always wanted to run Linux on it indefinitely, but all the invaluable utilities for it (overdriving the screen brightness, overclocking the CPU to 900 MHz, killing everything when you pressed the power button, etc.) were written in Windows. It was made so much faster and more useful with these little utilities that it just seemed foolish to use anything else. Like most gadgets, it was made by the manufacturer, but made perfect by the community.
Solid point about not including the size, given that was the primary factor for me. I definitely should have included that. For me, the Eee was as revolutionary as the first iPod. I guess I assumed that most here would be familiar with them, if not having owned one.
I'd like to put my oversized mits on one before dropping $500 on it to make certain it's usable, but honestly that looks like the most realistic option for me, given the features I need.
I agree with you more than I disagree. I'm basically anarcho-capitalist lolbertarian. Sharing memes that make fun of the establishment seems more useful than pointing out its legitimate flaws with facts and history. Ain't nobody got time for that. (meme)
I've read the Federalist Papers and I've read the Communist Manifesto. If you're going to have a position on something, you need to know why. I approach things with the idea that I should understand enough about a given issue to argue either side of the debate, or against both.
So yeah, I think we could have a beer and share a quality conversation. I still think NYT is garbage, as well as WSJ. At least you didn't call me names while we disagreed.
If you have paid for a copy, format shifting is fair. Imagine it this way: an artist created a digital photo you liked, and you purchased a copy of his JPG, but wanted it in PNG. There is nothing wrong with changing formats of the copy you already licensed.

These little tidbits are why I love/. comments! I had no idea. TFAs are one thing, but the comments section is where the nerds really get their news. I don't have any mod points, but thank you for your post!
King Arthur was actually alright. They needed to have called it *!!* King Arthur and put the emphasis where it mattered. Or I guess they could have called it Medieval Snatch. I'd have gone to see it in theaters if I had known he was involved.
I had chronic severe headaches my entire life. I remember distinctly in 2nd grade my teacher kept a bottle of Tylenol in her desk with my name on it. I know what you're probably thinking, but this was 30 years ago in a private school, so nobody thought anything of it then. As an adult, I typically had a headache twice a week, and some weeks I had them every day. Two or three times a year they were so bad I would have to leave work.
Last year I tried some chiropractic care as a hail mary for another medical issue. It didn't help with what I walked in the door for, and made my long-abused back feel worse, but I haven't had a headache since my first visit around a year ago. I discontinued my visits last August, so there has been real staying power. I don't know everything chiropractic may benefit, but it certainly helped me with my headaches. If I find them returning, I wouldn't hesitate to return for an adjustment or two.
I stress this to my crew. I am a supervisor for a rough and tough group of guys in the building trades. We are tasked with such things as performing miracles, being in two places at once, and doing it all with an insufficient staff, budget, and schedule.
Based on the square footage of the locations we maintain, we should have over 40 tradespeople. We have 10. That means that, even if they worked all day each day, we would still be behind. In our situation, the options include working more, reducing services, and contracting out the difference. We use a combination of the three.
I understand how hard all of my guys work. I let them off any time they like, though on any given day I want to keep at least one person in each craft. The policy where we work is that I can deny personal leave if I have insufficient coverage, but I cannot deny sick leave. I make sure my guys are well aware of this policy, especially when I cannot let them off on personal time.
Nothing other than iStuff knows what to do with it. It's fine, but right now it's inconvenient, so JPG it is.
Does HEIC support transparent backgrounds? That's the only real shortcoming of JPG that has fostered the growth of PNG.
People (not me) on the internet LIKE the shit that has overrun YouTube. That's why Logan whoever was even in a position to cause controversy.

Maximum dimensions are roughly 8" x 11", or an Eee 1000H.

Ah, the editors took some liberty with the original title. As submitted, it was, "What's the modern equivalent of the Eee netbook?"
Spotify's business model is quite sustainable. It's the cast of characters raising law suits who refuse to keep up with the times.

Your ad hominem makes for a convincing argument. Nice work!
They curate articles that fit their bias. Even if they collect and publish a specific flavor of garbage, it's still garbage.

The one with the blue aliens or the one with the ninja children?

You have to make sure they can hear the movie over keyboard clicks and text tones.

Punctuating your opinion with ad hominem attacks will certainly get others to understand your point.
I only had a 486 DX4. I had to use WinPlay3 for years before I could do anything with WinAmp.
This is a feel-good law that accomplishes nothing but wasting taxpayer dollars.
If we perform such nonsense, it will be looked back on like killing all the buffalo to starve the Indians.
