Truthfully, theres so much support and info out there to set a carputer up with windows, I find very few reasons to make me want to spend more time with linux for it. I guess its just not my thing. I'm shopping around for parts for a "truckpc" for my new dakota. Can't wait to set it up.

I understand that using a gun stock makes it look "cooler", but the article makes it seem like it wouldn't work if you didn't put it together in the same way. You really only have to buy the antenna and a connector for your card in your laptop to get it to work fine, its not as mobile as with the gumstick computer, but you could probably mount that gumstick computer on the side of the antenna if you really wanted something that mobile.
I want to do this in my next car, but I definitely won't be using a mac. THe mini is nice and small, but the lack of programs for mac compared to windows, that are vital to carputers are more important to me.

I'll be moving away from where there are wells fargo's fairly soon anyway, so I don't think I'll have to worry about "hacked" atms because they run windows:)
I absolutely love my asus motherboards, but at this moment im kind of a amd guy, so its not a big deal to me either way.

I've been using opera since version 6 something I think, and I will not use any other browser. Once and a very odd while it won't work on a site, so I will just use MIE, but otherwise its perfect. I tried firefox for a bit, but couldn't really stand it.
Its not bad looking, I would rather build my own though, which i am in the process of doing. I'm either getting the antec overture case or modding something. I dont know how successful this thing will be..
People copy and paste small and very large parts of my website constantly, and there was one guy who took my daily updates. It bothered me, but since I don't make any money off my site, www.freestufftimes.com it doesnt really matter, nothing I was gonna do about it..

I've been meaning to try linux one of these days, I think I'm going to download it and give it a try. Hopefully its somewhat painless.

I can't afford 300 either :( I wish I had a little over 600 and I'd buy an infocus x1 projector though.
