Oooh Ooooh, I know the answer to this one. Ready, wait for it, wait for it, correlation does not equal causation. You can't just look at two factors and see a relationship and say that one caused the other. What you CAN look at is cases where a SET POPULATION had their laws changed and see what the results were. For instance you can look at Chicago or New York or Washington DC for places that enacted unconstitutional gun bans and then later had them overturned or are in the process of being challenged. This change means that you CAN control all the other variables and look at just these two. Do THAT research and get back to me.

The thing is, I know "Nutcase A's" that are just as vehement in their support for Obama. Different alternate histories, but the same fervor and delusion. So my question to you is, did you not notice those guys the last rally that you were at?

Quote for Truth! I know this is Slashdot and all but I can only stand so much intellectual dishonesty in one post and the original example about the Tea Party is about as intellectually dishonest as it gets.

Online stores that sell guns still abide by the laws of the destination address. In most places that means it has to ship to someone with a Federal Firearms License who then holds it for you until you pass a background check, make sure you have a safety certificate, and hold it for at least 10 days. Each state differs but its not like buying on the Internet somehow overcomes the laws.

Anybody who uses the word "Tea Bagger" is a troll. You know it stands for "Taxed Enough Already" right? The Tea Party at its core is about going back to the founding fathers and about controlling taxation without representation. What then happened was people infiltrated the ranks to sow discontent. I personally was at a rally where people who were obviously not aligned with the movement showed up with hateful signs. Know what happened next? They were thrown out. The signs were attacking Obama but the participants didn't care. The Tea Party doesn't have room for intolerance and hate. That is only present when people are deceiving others and acting like they are part of the movement.

    3) Will the insurer be pro-active?

So I think we still need choice but outside of that, everything else needs to be somewhat locked down. The insurance companies should not be making the kind of profit that they do off of performing basically and administrative function. The demand in the market for healthcare is elastic meaning even as the price skyrockets, we still need it and will still pay for it. Because of this we do need regulation. Its just the way the "Health Care Affordability Act" went about the regulation was all wrong as well as sketchy since it happened behind closed doors.
