There are some time gaps in your story as well as some interesting events that took place. Could your post have been any more one-sided? For one thing, how exactly is it stealing when many nations worth of companies invested in their oil extraction infrastructure but some how not worth mentioning when the Iranians Nationalized assets that belonged to foreign corporations?

Sorry, that argument doesn't fly. We would not be in the Middle East if they could learn to behave themselves. However have a theocracy is almost always a bad idea because the religious leaders almost always become corrupted to the point of no return and then cause strife for their own country and those around them. Then their neighbors beg us to intervene. Trust me, I'd rather we didn't have to but isolationism doesn't work. I know because we tried it.

A steady stream of meltwater through spring is a good thing, a flash flood isn't. Some areas are going to get drier, some are going to get far too much water.

Since this IS civilization we are talking about and we can perform some form of central planning, how about we stop building homes in flash flood channels? Just a thought.

Wouldn't the different densities not matter because of the whole thing with it displacing the same amount of water because of its mass? To explain it another way, if it is more dense then it will displace more water when ice but then the same when melted and if it is less dense then it will also displace less water and the same lesser amount when it melts. Plus dense fresh water sinks which then allows it to mix quickly which then evens out the whole thing.

The whole "disparate impact" thing is a holdover from the jim crow laws. The point is if we can prove that the intent of a hiring practice, voting requirement, license granting, etc. is to weed out people who are frauds or who are not qualified then the whole "disparate impact" argument should take a flying leap.

I think it is more telling that the tech support didn't already know that the model in question in fact did not HAVE link lights. They only support 50-60 models of routers in their entirety with maybe 4-5 making up the bulk of the tech support requests. Its not too much to expect them to actually look at at the manual if they are not familiar with that model before posting their form response.
