I find it comes down to what you're doing with it. I'm mostly unpacking other peoples' compressed files so it's perfect, especially with the Explorer right click menu. The people who don't like it seem to be packing more than unpacking. YMMV. That said, the only files I've had that 7zip can't handle are RARs from more recent versions of WinRAR.
It would be easier if they hadn't fired the network admin, wouldn't it? My bet is it's one of the boxes that the new guy 'knows all about' and has eliminated from the search.
We had Word documents get so screwed up that Word wouldn't open them. The best fix was to open them in OpenOffice and re-save them. It messed up the formatting, but it was better than losing a days work. I keep it around as a repair tool even in an all MS shop.
If you think Word is evil, stay away from Publisher.
Not a shock site. Use a corporate home page. While you're at it, set up the Windows Legal Notice message that comes up before you can log in. Use something like: "This computer is the property of big corp with mean, hungry lawyers. Unauthorized access is prohibited." It might make them think twice.
Damn, I have to grab that out of the reading pile and have a look. I'm gonna have a corrupted stack and need to re-build it. (Better than the last stack overflow though.)
You forgot: you've also won the wars on terror and drugs.

Have you updated/upgraded the system after adding the extra repos? I'm thinking about Ubuntu for my eee because the Asus and Xandros updates are some of the worst I've seen in a while. Simple UI icons go missing (backup simpleui.rc and copy it back), the network panel stops working, (still haven't found the cause of that, appears to be a KDE update) other stuff breaks. I hit F9, rolled it back and haven't updated it since. A good repository and decent updates from ASUS would make this thing perfect.

Team America: World Copyright Police. (Puppets of the RIAA/MPAA, how fitting.)

'a "fiscally-rooted" decision' has a different meaning in Oz.
And Halo: Fit, work out with Master Chief. I don't think anybody mentioned Guitar Halo either.
It's been done already. When a law becomes a toy for fifteen year olds, we have a problem.
My guess is guys stuck in marketing meetings and waiting for lunch.
Forget business, think online banking.
Call me Psycho or I'll cut you. And if anybody touches my stuff...
(It took me a minute, but I hope we're talking Stripes.)
Amen to that. Another weird data point: JScript has a built-in sort. The last time I checked vbscript didn't.
Have an arrow and "I'm with Terry Childs boss."
or "Terry Childs was right about you."
Word sucks so hard, it could suck start OpenOffice.

I know who I'll miss more.
I really like the new Nabisco Tits. They're my favorite snack.
Yeah, but you've got some open ports. Hey, you like the same stuff as me. Do you mind if I copy it?
The possibility of New Zealand joining is mentioned in the Australian constitution.

No, but they make motorcycles.
In other news, the federal government will be hiring.
Sure, but it'll cost you. No representation without compensation.

Just get the pat down and show them how much you enjoy it. Oh, right there, keep going big boy.
