Awesome, thanks. That's why I read Slashdot. I've been using that one for 5 years, and never, never has anyone been able to respond. Does anyone have a similar/harder to refute quote I can use instead from here on out?

What an amazing display of actively opposing something based on feelings rather than facts! You've gotten an answer for something you've waited five years to hear, and you immedietly ask for some better, more difficult to explain caveat of the Christian faith to use in the future! I get convinced more and more each day that athiests actively oppose a God they know exists. If they had sense, they'd be agnostics.

Knowing how to add 1234+2345 in my head is just no longer a necessary skill.

I challenge your claim. Mathematics is required for all areas of life. One example I can think of now is the use of mathematics in personal finances, where the ability to add nonobvious numbers may be important!

I disagree with your assertion the bible does not mention heaven and / or an afterlife. Look at the oldest men, the patriarchs - Enoch - he did not die, but was taken away by God (where would God have taken him?).

People seem to forget that space travel is freaking dangerous. The whole concept of a lit rocket attached to your ass is probably never going to be as safe as walking to the store.

People drive cars every day. Here in Britain we can't get enough cars, and I'm sure that for most of the world, people are highly dependent on them. I'm sure they'd take a car any day over walking to the nearest out-of-town superstore.
