  1. Oh how idiots abound on Study Finds Universe Is 100 Million Years Older Than Previously Thought · · Score: 1

The age of the universe is pure guess work. It's not even good educated guess work. Hell, go search and you will see numbers from the expanding vacuum theory crowd over 17 billion. The 13 billion is based on big bang models which use as much as 90% made up numbers for dark matter and energy to get close to a valid simulation.

If you are guessing to begin with, it's not a story that your guess is .1% wrong! This is especially obnoxious when others in the field are guessing at 125% differences depending on who's guess work and theory you like.

What is more newsworthy in my opinion is why people are gullible enough to think crap like this is actually "newsworthy". I'll add that it's very sad that the people that believe these models are real when it's admitted to be mostly made of magical materials and energy, and yet those same people make fun of others that believe in theology.

Obama is a liar, and you believing anything his administration tells you makes you a fool. Need proof that Obama is a liar? Lets look at the 2011 NDAA (which you can go read about).

    1. NDAA is written with a clause that allows the indefinite detention of US Citizens inside the USA without trial, without warrant, and without merit. People were alarmed that this clause was put in the NDAA, it's a defense spending act.

    2. Obama claims he won't sign it if that passage exists. NDAA is _never_ submitted without that clause.

    3. Obama signs the NDAA at 12/21/11 at 11:59 PM. Interesting time frame for many reasons, mostly because it's out of the media for at least a day with New Years celebrations. Obama claims he had to sign it or the troops would not get paid (that is a lie, go learn something if you don't understand why.) and that he still never wanted that section in the act.

    4. NDAA is challenged and goes to court due to the clause denying constitutional rights to US Citizens. Court agrees and strikes that portion of the act.

If Obama was honest, that would have been the end of the story, but instead he orders White House attorneys to appeal the ruling. Not once, because the next court stated the section was unconstitutional. He ordered a second appeal.

The issue here is that you refuse to acknowledge reality. You believe everything the media plays him saying, and take it as gospel without doing any fact checking. He has done or stood for almost nothing he claims. He lied about providing funding and arms to Libya, which came out after the fact. The same in Syria. He lies, and the propaganda media plays up his lies as if they are the truth. Sadly, people are gullible enough to believe what they are told without doing any research to see if it's honest.

So now that I have showed you he is a liar, and his lies are backed by media what will you do? Change the opinion you have of him, or continue to believe the lies? I'm guessing the latter, but I hope not!

With that said, don't argue that the puppet show is reality. You harm the rest of humanity that deserves the opportunity to step out of the cave.

Wow dude, I'm not sure how you are claiming to be "strong" in that short of a time. 10-20 minutes is not enough to work out more than a few muscle groups for strength.

Lets look at a few basics for strength. I used to work out with Mr. Jr Hawaii (4'11" but built like Arnold at 210). I was not that big, but at my best I was 190 with an average of 4.5% body fat and stand 5'7". I trained people for PT in the Military, and had no difficulty with the Navy Seals PT tests passing mark 3. That was a few years ago, so not where I am today. I do however bicycle to and from work every day so am not in bad shape. Parenting takes away a whole lot of your gym time.

Strength requires isolation and several sets of repetitions per muscle group. Normal training includes 3 sets, with some rest in between to allow the muscles to regain oxygen. Depending on who you ask, reps should start at 10-18 and reduce as you work the group. You don't just whip the weight as fast as you can either, nobody in their right mind would tell you to do so. A curl should take 3-4 seconds at a minimum for the positive rep, and another 3-4 seconds for the negative rep. Rest is roughly 60 seconds between sets. That means at least 3-4 minutes for one muscle group.

I could fully work out my biceps and triceps in 20 minutes assuming ready weights (no plate changing) or use of a machine (which nobody should recommend for strength training). Upper and lower bicep, inner and outer triceps. I have never touched anything else during that time.

You were correct that it's every other day, but given the amount of time it takes to build "body" strength you need to be in the gym 6 days a week. 1/2 the body day 1, the other half on day 2, back to first half, etc.. and then rest 1 day per week. Trust me, I used to spend at least 3-4 hours in the gym every day on top of military PT (which primarily works cardio).

I'm not saying you can't get in better shape in the time you mentioned. From couch potato to working out 3-4 days a week for 10-20 minutes is a good thing. I don't think you could be considered "strong" in that amount of work out time, but closer to what should be normal strength for your age.

The daydream aspect of science articles is hardly limited to this one. Every paper I read injects fallacy/fantasy to prove the point. Often these papers go further to discount other things in the process and "science minded" people just ignore it. The easy answer is that in order to make money, wild speculation has become relatively normal in "science". We don't have to have a lawsuit like we did against Fox, people just assume that entertainment should be normalized into everything including science.
