Shareholders' opinions matter to executives now? Duh, I would just spend some more of my billions on focus groups and propaganda to convince the shareholders that i am awesome and deserve even more bonuses for my actions.
Thank you. Reasonable theories. I assumed that because auto cars have to rev so much to set off ( they sound really stupid to me, a big V8 revving away as it creeps around looking for a space in a car park ), they didn't do anything at idle. Whenever i have driven auto, i must have been so preoccupied consoling my bored clutch foot that i never noticed.
Interesting! Why do you need to put an auto in neutral on ice ( I have only very rarely driven auto )? Wouldn't the engine stop powering the wheels once it had dropped back to tickover?
But in the case of a car's engine undergoing sudden acceleration (either due to software bug, sensor misread, carpet on pedal or idiot operator pressing wrong/multiple pedals), killing the sparks (or fuel) will not instantly cause loss of servo braking. I have simulated this by turning the engine off with the key ( i was on an airfield as i realised the steering lock would come on).
I had a shredded belt on my car which took out the power steering as I approached a roundabout (to turn left at approx 35 mph). Yes, the steering became very heavy, but it certainly wasn't enough to cause me to hit the kerb or the roundabout (i performed the left turn maneuver, rather than do an emergency stop). I then drove the car for a couple of days until i could get it fixed. If the belt had not also powered the alternator, I would have done without it longer.
Why are motorcycles fitted with a kill-switch, and cars aren't? A cut-out switch on the dashboard, like those on industrial machines, would seem to be an obvious feature in today's safety-obsessed society.
I shall rush out and buy a PS3 just as soon as I forgive Sony for the cd rootkit, and for removing linux option for PS3. This is assuming PS3 is still available, it may be the PS72 by then. And that is also assuming that Sony haven't pulled any more annoying stunts.
Meh, a tablet that was just a laptop without a hinge and with an on-screen keyboard that can be minimised when not in use would suit me. Especially if it had plenty of usb, sd and micro-sd slots. And wirelessness.
And if it ran gnu/linux.

No free TV won't be completely dead, but with only 5-6 channels left per city it might as well will be.
Hey, sonny, I remember when there were just 3 tv channels and most of the content was of little or no interest to me. Recently I subscribed to assloads of tv channels and found there were less hours of interesting content than when there were 3 channels. I soon unsubscribed. $100 per month for TV? Pffft!
TV is dying. Paid TV is dying. It is suicide.
I had a Nokia N95 which auto-keylocked when slid closed. Unfortunately it unlocked if it was jostled more than 1% open and then rang (usually) the last number called/received. I replaced it with an LG KC910 Renoir which auto-locks after a few seconds of idleness. Unfortunately it unlocks when it gets pressure on part of the touchscreen ( you don't have to press a key sequence or slide the pressure point around, there is no confirmation on a different screen area ) and then it fires up the internets, makes calls, has a whale of a time running up bills, annoying everyone and flattening the battery.
If this lame-design trend continues I will have to leave my future mobile phone at home tethered by a curly charging cable to a special cradle (maybe incorporating a rotary dial).
I remember doing something similar with a vt220 and dos back in the day. Now, what was the command to redirect console to the serial port? Something to do with con and pipes? copy con || com2:
or something
also some baud rate and Xon stuff.
Anyway, the point being that my terminal had an amber phosphor and thus was far cooler than this guy's.
My bike battery is 16AH, so an hour and a half for my laptop? Or am i missing something? I am about six stone overweight so another stone of battery is not much of a problem.
Then we can just connect straight to car batteries. Easy peasy charging in the car. 12V sealed lead acid motorcycle battery in your pocket for when the li-ion is failing after a year. The broken-screen laptops we use as headless servers could have UPS for cheapness using old car batteries.

If BP used Bono's music in their cleanup ads for the oil spill, then it would put BP in a bad light.
Of course file sharing is as criminally dangerous as murder. Share files and the terrorists win! Haven't you been paying the slightest attention?

Well, if i checked my bank account and found, like the RIAA, I had many, many billions of dollars, the 'revenge' option looks good.

What do you mean, I'm not helping?
You should try listening to the content actually broadcast (on radio of all types) if you want an example of wasted bandwidth.
Not to mention the false positives causing even more people to be charged/jailed/executed.

They certainly can, but that is what I am hoping to do away with. I reckon a length of wire would be cheaper.
Well, yeah. I suppose I can stand talking about him for 5 minutes every couple of decades. :-)

It would be awesome!

What will it be on, kazaa? I can't see there being enough fans to make torrenting work efficiently.
He's a rocker, now? I thought he just did vapid pop rubbish 20 years ago.
