In typical online RPGs you are segmented somewhat from the higher level players when you first start out.. this gives you a chance to buff up and then take other players of equal and higher rank and have a chance of winning.. does anyone know how they handled this problem?
I am leaning more and more towards buying this for the online component, but being killed 5000 times until i get enuf "buffs" to be able to offer a challenge to anyone who has been playing since day one is something that still makes me hesitant.
From the review it sounds like the buffs you get are really powerful in online play.. has anyone had a chance to experience these first hand?
I thought it has to do with the width of the keys themselves. I am 6'2" and have large hands and thusly large fingers (plus i play games online so they are pudgy fingers as well) When i used my sister in laws iphone i felt like homer with the phone masher stick...
47% don't at all, then 30% do less than an hour.. poll results: The poll also found that among gamers:
* 44 percent said they play over the Internet;
* 26 percent said they spent nothing on the pastime last year, another 46 percent spent up to $200 and 12 percent spent $500 or more, with men usually the bigger spenders;
* Price is the chief factor for people purchasing a gaming console, followed by the availability of games.
The poll involved telephone interviews with 2,016 adults conducted Oct. 9-11 and 16-18, and had a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 2.2 percentage points. Included were 770 people who said they play computer or video games, for whom the margin of sampling error was plus or minus 3.5 points.
"Option to "Reopen Closed tabs" in IE - This will be addressed via "Are you sure you want to close this tab?""
Probably what they mean is just like how firefox can "restore previous session", either they didn't word it as such but mean that, or, they mean the same feature but extended to include "oops, i didn't mean to click that tab, shit" which i happen to do frequently and would like to see in FF (because i'm not gonna use IE).
I left him on the side of the river before you cross and jump the car back over.. then i realized there was no way to retrieve him from under that big door you raise so the vorgaunt and alex can join you.. so i said screw it...
I was gonna carry him through the whole way on my first time playing (fun taking out zombies with a gnome lol) as i looked through the achievements before playing and spotted the gnome right away (prolly cuz i was looking for him).
"Most organizations, public or private, don't send people to 4-star resorts for a week, all expenses paid."
My last company sent all 30 sales people and their support staff to aruba for a week, all expenses paid? My current company (and other like it) regularly send their upper management for "offsites" (all expenses paid resorts to discuss "company direction" or other horseshit).
"For some people achieving something 'is' the entertainment."
and for some people it's not? I'm not sure what point you are making about the GP's argument for allowing someone to not HAVE to unlock stuff.
it seems to be more and more of a reoccurring theme (esp with console games) and i believe it is because of the lack of real innovation, this way you add 2-3x of the play time to a game by making people "work" on the game to be able to play all of it.. and it really pisses me off.
that's why you ignore the software, buy a 40 dollar router and call their customer service to find out what the host IPs are so you can auto authenticate.
"In this scenario, they're responsible for all the marketing, recording, and distribution costs. In the scenario where they're getting $2/album they don't have to foot any of those bills."
Huh? Typical music contacts often give you a set amount of money for a record and then X$ per CD, they then charge you for marketing, recording and distribution. so often an artist will come out ahead only if they sell X number of CDs to make up for those charges.
I can relate, let me just say if you accidentally name a file * (especially if it is in the root directory) rename it to something else before trying to delete it.
"As I pointed out in the DUI example, that very principle is enshrined throughout our legal system in the US."
Actually DUI is one of the few laws that have been pushed by certain groups (MADD for one) to purposely have stricter punishments, so it is a bad example.. can you give another illegal act that punishes for "what could have happened" prior to 9/11?
"I WILL vote for him as a write-in if I have to. But i would campaign to get him on the ballot in Kentucky."
um, wtf? You are seriously thinking about voting into the office of president a parody of pundits? I hate the current spectrum of American politics also, but i see the support for Colbert as a reflection of this disgust, not a belief that he would make "a good president".
who exactly would you be voting for anyway? The parody portrayed by Colbert, or the actual man himself which isn't on public display?
"Now I'm no expert in Sudafed-Meth conversions, but I would guess you would need a *TON* of children's Sudafed to make any significant crystal meth."
I believe it is about a 3oz to 1oz conversion, 3 OZ of sudaphed can produce and ounce of meth.
"And what protection does a signed name in a paper book prove? Do all of those names get typed into some computer system by someone?"
Yes
"couldn't we just pharmacy hop to get all of the Sudafed that we needed?"
There is a limit on how much you can buy before it "triggers" an investigation, what you would need to do is have a number of people working together to buy from different states on a rotating schedule (I believe the records are only statewide currently), OR just buy shitloads from the internet from overseas.
"When companies do something illegal or dangerous (lead paint in toys), and it gets out, the public backlash usually results in a recall. Companies then prioritize safety..."
You're naivety reminds me of a movie i am found of.. here is a quote from one part of that movie (which i think we can all agree has been shown to be true time and again):
Narrator: A new car built by my company leaves somewhere traveling at 60 mph. The rear differential locks up. The car crashes and burns with everyone trapped inside. Now: should we initiate a recall? Take the number of vehicles in the field, A, multiply by the probable rate of failure, B, multiply by the average out-of-court settlement, C. A times B times C equals X. If X is less than the cost of a recall, we don't do one. Business woman on plane: Are there a lot of these kinds of accidents? Narrator: You wouldn't believe. Business woman on plane: Which car company do you work for? Narrator: A major one.
Well at least 3 out of 4 of your dreams have a chance of coming true.

I think you are mistaken on this point...
"According to Steam I managed 4 out of 6 advanced maps, as well as 6 out 6 advanced maps, but I haven't yet completed 2 out of 6 advanced maps ;)"
Hmm, this might be due to a reporting bug that occurs in some accounts, email me your Steamname and password and i'll look into it for you...

DOAC?
Dwellers of another cellar?
Is Mr. Sohn looking for anyone to birth his children?
you'll have to wait until he finds out how to respond from Sean Hannity.

"there is such a thing as bad publicity."
Tell that to Hitler. (or should i say Joseph Goebbels?)
Why don't they sell both types tho, so people like me can buy the uncensored version?
Something about hearing "old school" instead of "fuck you" in a rage against the machine lyric makes the song feel comical and not rebellious.

"The laws were changed because the society felt"
If by society you mean lobbying by the group MADD, then i would agree.

we were talking about public property. nice try tho.
"the right of the people peaceably to assemble"?!?
OHHHH I Get it, you're a troll.. lol sorry little slow today.
