Team fortress is a mod of the halflife engine that has different team oriented game play types, the cool thing about it is that the map you are playing determines the game play type. so on one server you could be playing 'capture the flag' on one map and in the next map be playing 'king of the hill'. From what I remember, there were like 4 types of game play at first (capture the flag (2 bases 2 flags), grab the flag (1 flag 2 bases/capture points), domination/ control the points, and hunter-hunted) but what really made it popular was that if you created a map you could create the game play of the map, so there became new playstyles like soccer (grab the ball and return it to your base), jailbreak (kill players to put them in "prision", teammates can free you from prision, all of a team in prison wins round) assualt type (path of controls points, capture each one in succession, when all points captured you win, then teams switch sides), etc... This pretty much defined a new type of game play with other games following the model (UT2004, quake3 (with mods), etc...).

CS has got to be one of the most balanced games I have ever played with one of the most (at the time it became popular) original multiplayer game styles ever seen (once again at the time of popularity, beta5.2 and on). There is a reason it made HL one of the best sellers out there past the usualy life of most FPSs and why it still sold millions of copies as it's own standalone game (CS retail).

I would agree with 1.6 CS, it has some plusses but too many minuses to make it my "flavor" of CS choice, as a clan leader we run CS 1.5 with an extensive ban list which helps to keep out most miscreants and when one pops up it is fairly easy to tell and ban

No, the cd key for CZ is about 10 characters more than the old HL/CS keys, I confirmed this last night with steam as all I need to play CZ is a CZ key, I have like 7-8 HL keys and I was going to use one of these but they are not compatible (forwards or backwards).

see once again you don't know what you're talking about... the old covenant/testament rules kept the people living in "righteousness" but even these rules weren't enough and an animal sacrifice was needed to hold off God's wrath until the fulfillment of the old testament had been complete with Jesus Christ, with this fulfillment Jesus made a "New convenant/testament" which disposes of much of the old laws of the old testament... now stop being a troll and read the bible if you truely want to understand.

I am that 1 in 7 who loves doing IT work and have seen enough people who are techinically illiterate (sp?) or don't give a poop about people who need thier help, to make me pull out my hair (although now a days, thanks to genetics, this is an ever decreasing ability) these people are in IT because of the good money, then sit and complain about their job or don't know what the heck they are talking about.... I have about 10 friends who are very technical who would excel in these jobs and love doing it, if you are one of those 6 "others" please feel free to leave.
