  1. Best news in a long time on We May Finally Know What Causes Alzheimer's -- and How To Stop It (newscientist.com) · · Score: 2

My grandma had it. My mother has it know, and it's getting worst.
While I do believe it's too late for her, and even if it's available I will never have anything near the amount of money this may require, there is hope for me and my 2 brothers in 20 years (statiscally, one of us should have it).

  2. Games are indeed the problem. Every other country had to do the same in the past, and this is why right now on safer places - like Japan - we have finally ended all that video game nonsense.

  3. Re:Yes on 'Windows 10 Is Failing Us' (betanews.com) · · Score: 1

Windows 7 was OK. 10 is supposed to be an upgrade to this OS, not only Windows 8. And in that regard yes, Windows 10 is crap. Dont get me wrong: i get the privacy issues but personally I could care less. And I like some features (the new CMD witch CC/CV and the Windows X shortcut are what make me use this as my main OS) but, interface wise, windows 7 was really well done. A great update from this mess.

  4. Cant repair office 2013/16 on Ask Slashdot: What Software (Or Hardware) Glitch Makes You Angry? · · Score: 1

One out of 3 or 4 "full repair" that I have to do on this software will end up with it be unsitanlled and thats it. Than I have to go back to the origina DVD (or 365 in case of signature - you cant use the same source for both, it would be too easy) and install again. The second problem is finding the install key, there is always a problem and someone misplaced it (on my company or on the small business in question). In the end Office is the only original software that I have to pirate. Its way faster for the user... in case MS ever knock on the dor they will give us days to find all the licenses.

I'm sure there are some problems but in general, the Switch is freaking awesome. I bought it with Zelda, and it's the first time in FIFTEEN years that I'm at work and then think to myself: "oh boy, in an hour or two I can go home and play Zelda!" It's that amazing.

I did have to sell it though. My RSI started acting up and I really really can't risk any problems since I'm self-employed. Damn shame.

THIS! Last time I felt like this I was a teenager, playing Super Mario 64.

  6. Re:Full experience on Ask Slashdot: Share Your Experiences With Windows 10 · · Score: 1

You must show the OS that there is something wrong. Pull your power cord off during boot, before the OS freezes. This is the "Modern" way to F8. It may broke something on your hardware if you are really unlucky, but since you choose to use Windows 8 or 10, your fault I guess.

Almost every bank in Brazil uses java plugin for security login. Every single .gov.br site that has any remote type of login uses it too. So in one hand, they will have to adapt. Most banks will. FINALLY. OTOH there is no way in hell that the [brazilian] government will adapt in less then.. 5 year I guess. So, from some point forward in the future, I will have to support clients using Internet Explorer.

The problem is: about 90% of my city has at leas 10M down for cheaper. But since I live in a poor community there is no "need" to poll the last 1KM of cables, to build something for the demand. Who cares about a few hundred people with low income? Build cell towers? Again, why? To.. give internet for the poor? Who cares?? My hope was project baloon, or anything that I could pay for someone OUTSIDE brazil. Any in loco solution is bullshit, wont work in the real world.
