My grandma had it. My mother has it know, and it's getting worst. While I do believe it's too late for her, and even if it's available I will never have anything near the amount of money this may require, there is hope for me and my 2 brothers in 20 years (statiscally, one of us should have it).
Games are indeed the problem.
Every other country had to do the same in the past, and this is why right now on safer places - like Japan - we have finally ended all that video game nonsense.
Windows 7 was OK. 10 is supposed to be an upgrade to this OS, not only Windows 8. And in that regard yes, Windows 10 is crap.
Dont get me wrong: i get the privacy issues but personally I could care less. And I like some features (the new CMD witch CC/CV and the Windows X shortcut are what make me use this as my main OS) but, interface wise, windows 7 was really well done. A great update from this mess.
One out of 3 or 4 "full repair" that I have to do on this software will end up with it be unsitanlled and thats it. Than I have to go back to the origina DVD (or 365 in case of signature - you cant use the same source for both, it would be too easy) and install again.
The second problem is finding the install key, there is always a problem and someone misplaced it (on my company or on the small business in question).
In the end Office is the only original software that I have to pirate. Its way faster for the user... in case MS ever knock on the dor they will give us days to find all the licenses.
I'm sure there are some problems but in general, the Switch is freaking awesome. I bought it with Zelda, and it's the first time in FIFTEEN years that I'm at work and then think to myself: "oh boy, in an hour or two I can go home and play Zelda!" It's that amazing.
I did have to sell it though. My RSI started acting up and I really really can't risk any problems since I'm self-employed. Damn shame.
THIS!
Last time I felt like this I was a teenager, playing Super Mario 64.
You must show the OS that there is something wrong.
Pull your power cord off during boot, before the OS freezes. This is the "Modern" way to F8. It may broke something on your hardware if you are really unlucky, but since you choose to use Windows 8 or 10, your fault I guess.
Indeed.

Almost every bank in Brazil uses java plugin for security login.
Every single.gov.br site that has any remote type of login uses it too.
So in one hand, they will have to adapt. Most banks will. FINALLY.
OTOH there is no way in hell that the [brazilian] government will adapt in less then.. 5 year I guess.
So, from some point forward in the future, I will have to support clients using Internet Explorer.
Personalization, start, "Occasionally show suggestions...". Off by default for me.
But I can turn ON. And it appears.
How dare MS let me turn on an option for ads!!!
Give me balloon, satellite or drone, and let my pay you directly.
Right now all I have is 1M down, 300k up, for about US$30 a month.
The problem is: about 90% of my city has at leas 10M down for cheaper. But since I live in a poor community there is no "need" to poll the last 1KM of cables, to build something for the demand. Who cares about a few hundred people with low income?
Build cell towers? Again, why? To.. give internet for the poor? Who cares??
My hope was project baloon, or anything that I could pay for someone OUTSIDE brazil. Any in loco solution is bullshit, wont work in the real world.
So lets make it more clear: according to gizmodo, " Now imagine transferring the entire printed catalog of the Library of Congress in a minute and a half. "
The new system on a major "4 letters" Microsoft OEM partner that I work for will work only on IE 6 or 7, and have (third party) developer support only for XP machines. So yes, I could go as far as IE7, but let's be real, all the current systems already works better on IE6.
Having both versions would be great indeed, but I don't think this will ever be an option.
The only problem is that real consumers don't want any kind of linux. And they don't care or know about the 3 programs limitations.
When I sell any PC with starter I just say "and it comes with windows" - one out of 10 (maybe) asks or know anything about versions.
I'm sure in the USA would be diferent, but the first part still tru: who want linux, besides we?
I am curious about what build this guy was running - I'm surprised that he's been working on it for "4 days" because i'm not sure the final Beta2 build has been public that long:)
Didn't you notice?
We are reading the dupe. The original story will apear in 3 days.
Some sources say it will have 1024 Flash Memory, instead of a HD, and 128M of RAM. On the MIT page it is only 512M os Flash. http://laptop.media.mit.edu/faq.html

Please can someone post a (no-malware) mirror installer?

Wasn't it about the price? $5 is A LOT LESS then $35 for me. Wish I could buy somewhere (with reasonable international shipping).

Did a test, uploading from the web only is possible for RAW. And... he converted a 12M RAW file for a 68K jpg.
The old maps satellite image is months more up-to-date than the cute one where I live. But it's ugly! Who wants that on a map?!!
I would love to store my 50G on mp3 files on google as a backup for free!

But this time they are not trying to make another DVD format, just adding a feature...
Great... using Opera, and I just got banned too :(
