...I imagine would make a fire that would make the Gulf War oil well fires look pretty tame by comparison. The huge amount of heat released would speed up the thawing and continued release of methane. Admittedly, it would become carbon dioxide and water vapour by means of the combustion but still it would be a big whack of heat on the local melting environment. And of course there is the possibility (probability?) of all that peat catching fire too.
...because it makes it impossible for the sides to flex with variations in air pressure. Incredibly important factor in a ported sub box if you are trying to load the driver optimally. The enclosure volume is alread at a maximum for a given surface area. That said, I notice a *lot* of internal bracing was used. Definitely useful in a box, but probably not here.
Therefore everyone contributes to it's evolution as such, right or wrong. Anyway, who is authorised to specify what is wrong (besides the Queen of course)? Disclaimer - I agree wholeheartedly with the author of the thread. I can't stand the word "prolly":-(
Good for you, Bert. Notice I said "lots", not "all". I can only imagine how much it must gall you see some of the things these other guys do, therefore bringing reproach on you even though you strive to have moral ethics in dealing with others. That doesn't make the news unfortunately. Keep up the good work!:-)
It is making lots of money for lots of lawyers. What kind of people do you think structured the whole thing anyway? This protection of inventions etc stuff is secondary for sure, almost irrelevant. It's just a convenient framework for their machinations. Patents only have their (original) intended effect over people who *want* to do what's right - QED.

Yeah, as I was writing I was thinking you would still be late for work no matter what. Heh heh. Seeing time is not constant everywhere, atomic clocks are going to get out of sync. Nobody would be right. What's all this UCT (Universal Co-ordinated Time) stuff? No such thing really;-)

Simulated Universe

No, not at all. The entire x Terabytes of data is on a paper tape that is formed into a mobius loop. Therefore it actually simulates itself in the previous 2-dimensional universe that is made of vibrating silly-string(s).
Now I see why this digital lifestyle rot, as well as PDA's, 3D desktops, laser-pistol cell phones, Windows version 10^9 etc etc ad nauseum are peddled at all of us. A bunch of really smart people dreaming up what they think is interesting and presenting it to us as some sort of evolutionary social necessity, AKA as a "must-have". Interesting stuff sometimes, but you sure as hell don't need it like they tell you you do.
So whats my point? Me, a lifelong geek, no longer gives a flying rats ass about the future of "digital media". I'll keep my analog cable, FM radio, and CD player for as long as they continue to work.
Ahhh ha ha ha.... You have discovered two things: 1, the "digital lifestyle" thingo is basically a load of crap. 2, You are now officially a grumpy old cuss, just like me;-)

"Water would be better if it didn't tend to let the electrons go wherever they wanted" I seem to remember that one of the reasons that you put the green stuff in your car radiator water is to reduce or eliminate it's electrical conductivity, thereby stopping current flow between dissimilar metals such as aluminium and iron causing corrosion. Maybe water + green stuff = computer coolant too?
Seeing vacuum tubes aka "valves" are very much in fashion for ultra high-end audio stuff, it would be cool if some manufacturer used this technology on them so as to eliminate the power consumption normally used by the filament. Did the article mention anything about expected lifetime of the emissive surface?

Data isn't information, information isn't knowledge, knowledge isn't wisdom.

Now we know how to stop eggs shorting out when you boil them.

Yeah, me too. Kinda handy when you are fast forwarding the VCR through the ads :-)
