oh well, pud pud pud, I need to work on communivation, but you can thelp but be glad there is still success to be had with the internet if you are techno career oriented...

some snotty slick haired business major is enjoying his recent promotion right now.

this is stupid, a dollar an hour is far more than this is worth, further, could the cpu really send out enough ads to generate a dollar an hour for the businesses?
maybe i suppose, but i rather doubt this is even a possibility
all i do is rip out my scroll wheel and two of my mouse buttons and now I've got my own mac experience!!!
plus, I play that slidey puzzle game!!!
seriously, there's got to be enough creativity to make your own style
Buddy, that's plain immoral.
People buy computers and aren't savvy of how they function. Just as most purchase cars but arent very mechanically savvy. Just as most people vote but don;t know much about the mechanics, just as most people use freedom of speech but cant handle the operation of a tank.
Look, just because I use free speech and a car and a computer, doesnt mean i therefore either have to be savvy or cant expect the soldier, auto manufacturer and windows to be derelict in their responsibilities.
Windows is not linux, it is sold as a desktop for the everyman. Microsoft ought to make it easy to use correctly and force updates. This is abuse. I dont know how to install a lock on the door of my car, GM put it their for me. That's what microsoft should do too.
Remember, technology professionals dont have a job when everyone is computer literate.
there is no merit to innocent people being abused becuase of a product that is clearly deficient.
They fully intend and will make money off of this.
imagine the advertising potential. they know that i looking for a car when i discuss one with the old lady, they know its gonna be a wagon.
they know what my political affiliation is, so politicians and issues companies can beg the right people for dough
hell, they'll know what i do for a living and where and with who. they could target ads that are simply worth a lot more than anything else i can come up with, sans breasts.
they can spend a couple mill on this, if only to seize that much market.
that isnt an ulterior motive either
its obvious and completly great
bigger tougher needleess improvments bloated os with virus problems needing bigger drives faster processors virus screeners and constatnly reeducated tech professionals
and that's bad?
why?
if you have a job that is in technology, guess why? becuase of change man. no one needs help to set up the TV hook ups anymore, believe it or not they used to. complicated and changing and ever obselete stuff means $$$ for people in the industry.
it isnt just the newer programmers, my friend, who benefit. its all good programmers. it weeds out those who cant learn over their entire life, i admit.
maybe it is useless. my 266 megahertz celeron does all my writing and spreadsheet stuff fine, but so what? we have enough energy to support change and change leads to more food on the table for anyone who can handle change.
and.... it means cheaper hardware, much cheaper, for people who feel as you do. my old 266 celeron is worth 100$... is that its worth if we had never made anything better?
i dont see the downside you mention.
its a different sort of tool, with the advantager of tracking etc and the disadvantage of not being private.
just keep that in mind and there arent many problems.
i love the idea, and ill use it if i can.
i wont say anything extreme or criminal, and really, it is their property, so they can offer it for my use with whatever terms they like.
IP rights and plagarism ideas are rapidly changing in our shrinking world, so keep that in mind
i had the same thing happen with my flashlight (ten bucks) and my screwdriver (five bucks) and even with my iron (50$)
the ipod cost a lot more, and its very very wasteful of some very expensive components for zero reason.
its frustrating that something will expire so quickly.
Also, think about how you respond to people who think differently than you. You don't try to understand them or learn or even teach. You simply attack their brain size. Sounds like the kind of typical 'Bush Bashing' that has set back important civil rights progress (ie gay rights) as simply mud slinging.
You should be tolerant of other ideas, it's the american way.
The UN has never been democratic.
And there is no such thing as international law.
You argument is simply a personal attack that my mind isnt on. Germany and France are powerful countries that interfere with US policy, and so obviously your idea that they are our puppets is laughable, which pretty much proves my point.
They are liberal free societies only becuase we spent a great deal of effort, over a decade of afterwar blood in germany, to create a nice place for people who had tried to kill everyone.
Why gain a new market when you can simply take everything they have? We ruled them as a police state while we rebuilt them, we could have done to West Germany or South Korea what the Soviets did to their counterparts.
Look for yourself! My mind works just fine. As an Iranian, I have plenty of incentive to resent the US's many mistakes starting with Mossedeqh, instead, I take the hard route and see that, in spite of its mistakes, the American goverment, at least as openly represented, wants the rest of the world to be healthy and well rather than servants. That is a choice that is totally opposite to the rest of world hegemon history.
Morals and international law are only human inventions, and concepts that only exists thanks to the US not being a france of germany or rome or byzantium.
'mindless follower'? heh. i'm not going to accuse you of being ironic there, but maybe you should take a few history classes and think about the world today if the US had acted like any other country in her position.

you're grammar aint perfect either, I dont particularly care about that though, its a hominem attack. further, i dont need to justify why the world owes the US. clearly the US has had several options to conquor and rule other countries. Vietnam, Korea, Germany, Yugoslavia, Iraq, etc. We instead take the much harder path of trying to build an independent country that has full freedom to disagree with us who gave them their free speech.
There is no such thing as natural morality. The world is truly governed by power. We have it, and we don't use it to our advantage, we instead have given Japan, Germany, etc. the most vibrant and free societies out there.
I also didn't waffle about anything, I never changed my mind, and I didn't assert any favor owed, merely a debt that exists. The united states owes every single culture out there becuase every innovation we have came from immigrants from everywhere. I dont really care that there is antiamerican sentiment, that's just typical childishness, as is your completely hominem approach to logic. Try telling me what America gained through spending so much money on Yugoslavia or Germany to give them real social organizations. It would have been easier to simply use their resources by force. Certainly we have the power, but relent. I don't mean to troll, but frankly if people have problems with america becuase of the opinion of one person, well, I don't choose to respond directly, that's just bigotry.
The great thing about america is that we are very open about our mistakes (many) and very pointed about disagreed solutions. When I think about where innovation comes from, it is pretty much always from either the US, or some other country that we spent a great deal to civilize and then left with no profit beyond peace. We always could have plundered. Think a little bit for yourself. I dont need to tell you everything. I understand that many younger countries are jealous or America's old age and success, and that's ok, it doesn't bother me. I'm not going to turn around and then teach them what they should be decent enough to learn themselves.
I'm sorry, but you are totally wrong. the US is the world hegemon, had that hegemon been france britian or germany, or any other country, guess what? they lesser nations would be ruled with an iron fist. the US spent amazing resources to rebuild former enemies. our pure interests would have encourages plunder or at least leaving in ruin. we were generous, unlike any other hegemon in history.
its easy to hate america, its trendy and cool. but the truth is, americans did go out to help other people when their own interests were completely unaffected. can you tell me how the yugoslavia liberation from lilosevic helped the US? can you tell me how sending food to russia and north korea helps us? perhaps you can find some twisted justificcation, but it basically boils down to us not wanted to rule the world, but merely allow for a peacful world that works better if we help out.

we'll never terraform mars if we cant figure out basic logic. its trendy to bash bush, but none of his competitors really discuss how to pay for most of their inititiaves either, and perhaps it is obvious that bush doesnt intend on the government paying for it, rather he wants private industry to do that, and the government to endorse it by giving tax benefits
this is an important issue, there is a major difference in information for those who have or dont have good bandwidth. bush should be applauded for bringing attention to this problem, and sure, now it needs to be discussed and different solutions evaluated, but it should be ok to identify a problem before you have all of the solutions. both bush and kerry are pretty decent people who want to work hard. dont buy into the hollywood hogwash that you have to hate one of them just because they disagree.
if we really want to get somewhere with technology, we probably should keep the plodding and clumsy government out of funding it. im very happy with bush's idea to assist it by not taxing it, and i hope that extends to online purchases indefinately.
too many narrow minded people out there who hate bush for his social conservatism, and offesive civil rights ideas and dont realiz that he also has done a lot of great things for progressivism and human rights.
