I agree about the pride of walking across the stage, and I know what you mean. 17 weeks of Military Police school was hell, I often times pondered if I could make it, but I stayed strong and graduated on the 20th week there....Alot of shit sucks but like you said, once you've earned something, no one can take it away. My point was to show one situation where a shorter college would be ideal.

"Half the College Experience".... I don't really like eating packs of 78 cent hotdogs from walmart and making it the mainstay of my nutritional program just to make it through school. If I could get a degree in two years an spare myself the "experience," I would definately do so. For some people; the ones financially seperated from the rest of us from birth: school is great, fun, and lovely. For a portion of us, it's a struggle alongside a full-time job and a second part-time job. No I don't have kids, and I haven't fuc**ed up my life in any way, I was just brought into this world by poeple that weren't rich. This is the hand the world has delt me, now I must win with it... --[H]itman

Well slackware's installer is far easier than I ever imagined. And if you really knew indepth about apt-get and dpkg, you'd realize that slackware doesn't have anything close to it. and nor does Fedora. Yum is weak and in it's infancy, and doesn't have neither the functionality nor the power of apt or dpkg. But unless you knew the 2 in-depth, you'd be clueless as to what I'm relating to.

A while back while reading in an issue of "Linux User & Developer," I read an article about how bad the install was for first timers installing Debian. It went over one of the readers hard times, troubles, etc. After the user finally coming to a completion with the install, they made a comment that made so much sense to me. With the greatness of apt-get literally letting you uprade anything and everything, once you have debian installed, you never need to reinstall. That's probably why most users don't really bother with a new installer, because for one they're already se and won't have to deal with it anymore, and because secondly...Even the thought of the installation process invokes uncontrolable goose-bumps....:P

I was thinking, when I was using my KVM Switch, I noticed that you can reverse it's usage, instead of having 4 machines and 1 monitor/mouse. You can have 1 machine KVM'ed out to 4 displays, keyboard, and mice. Once done you could possible just use a terminal with vnc and use port forwarding to get x to work.
