If your turntable does not have the strobe light, the marks are useless (unless of course you use a handheld strobe light). Please tell me how you would calibrate 33 and 45 RPM using your lamp or ceiling light.
Those turntables had an amber strobe right next to the disc platter. You could fine tune the rotational speed by checking the marks against the strobe, not the room lights.
In a previous life, I was a member of a union (not by choice). Although I understand that unions can be good in an ideal world, in reality they suck the life out of anybody with a work ethic. Why should I do a good job if some idiot does zero work, is protected by the union, and gets the same annual salary incrases as me?
That's because Israel has been in a state of war for 60+ years. It's perverse, but the threat of violence has become part of their everyday background noise. The Americans aren't at that point - yet.
It's true, when you're constantly surrounded by a smell you can't smell it anymore. That's also the reason that most European computer geeks don't realise they reek of BO.
I don't know if your assertion is correct or not. However, my Pioneer Inno does not allow me to transfer the recorded songs to my computer.
Additionally, in my estimation, the sound quality is equivalemt to 64 kb/s mp3 at best. I have no desire to fool around with such low quality sound. However, it's fine for listening on my morning train commmute.
This concern is not limited to programmers, it applies to system administrators as well. I'm 42 and have little desire to get into management, but the pressure to do so is very strong. There are people younger than me who are directors and vice presidents. Some are good and some are total dolts.
I'm a pretty good admin who can implement and manage several types of network systems (servers, switches, firewalls, messaging, etc). I'm probably at a dead end in the corporate world, so working for a consulting company may be the next step.
I think you may be associating non-NPR programs with NPR news. A Prairie Home Companion is produced by American Public Media (APM). APM does not produce NPR news (meaning programs like All Things Considered, Morning Edition, etc). Most likely, you're listening to your local public radio station that airs programs in addition to NPR news. Whatever Garrison Keillor says is not the editorial opinion of NPR.
I had to look up the initialism LGBT (I learned something new on/.!). I can't say I've heard NPR news reports that PROMOTE gay issues. Does reporting on the gay marriage controversy imply an endorsement? If yes, then Fox News is guilty as well.
NPR is the only news outlet I've ever heard that actually provides in-depth news reports. I especially enjoy when they cover Supreme Court cases by reporting on the dialogue between lawyers and the justices.
I listen regularly to NPR but I can't stand Air America, Fox or any other extreme opinion outlet. I wonder if people who complain about NPR being biased in some way actually listen to NPR....
In the US, nails are designated in pennies. That is, a 1-inch nail is 2d, a 1.5-inch nail is 4d, etc etc. It's funny how terminology created way back in the Dark Ages perists in present day usage.
$10,000? chump change, right? I don't know about you, but I keep my cars for more than 125,000 miles. I'm not so sure I'd want to plunk down $10K on a car with that many miles on it.
0-60 in 4 seconds? How many runs from 0-60 before the batteries die out? 1, 2 or 3?
what happens to battery capacity in winter when you need to run the heater, wipers, and lights at night?
The Tesla is a cute idea, but electrics are a pipe dream until they can approximates maybe 80% of the functionality of an internal combustion or hybrid car.
AFAIK, Tesla has not actually delivered any customer cars but they've taken people's money on deposit. At this point, it's still vaporware. If/when they do deliver some cars, I look forward to automotive magazine reviews - especially Car and Driver.
I would venture a guess that some wealthy people get wealthy by being greedy, cheap, underhanded, etc etc. This guy's family was probably in that group.
Two ball valves were installed to allow easy shutoff close to the computers as well as a gate valve which allows precise bypass control. This way, computer connections can be exchanged without the need to shut off the cooling pump.
One tiny flaw. Gate valves are shutoff valves. They offer pretty much no flow control whatsoever. If he wanted control, he should have used a globe valve.
I give the whole effort lots of geek points. However, I doubt very much the cost of the project is worth it.
I live in northern New Jersey. I currently have the Cablevision triple play. I have the IO package (I forget if it's the standard or Silver) with HBO, one HD cable box, one standard cable box, phone service, and Internet all for $140/month. Everything works fine, the only reason I would consider switching would be considerably lower pricing.
I have no problem if the hunted animals are actually used for food and what not. However, I can't help but cringe and chuckle when I'm flipping channels and stop on the hunting channel.
The scene: Two guys in full camouflage, face paint, big big rifles with big big scopes and laser thingies attached, binoculars, two way radios, etc etc.
Hunter1: "Look at that, what a beautiful animal."
Hunter2: "Such a noble creature, look at the antlers, a true work of art"
Very cool. I ran OS9 as well. Just the other day, I found some postings on Usenet newsgroup that I wrote back in 1991. Those were posted from my Color Computer 3 running UUCP on OS9. Later on, I moved to an obscure computer called an MM/1 running OS9-68K on a 68070 chip. That was a great setup as well.
I credit everything I learned on those computers with preparing me for my switch to an IT career.

And the ideas will be slow to form and off color too!
Bzzt. Wrong.

They can tell you about everything except the secret handshakes and wink-wink nudge-nudge communications they use to identify each other in public :-)

Notes 7 is just as unusable and awful as all previous versions of Notes.
Poor boy, confusing a video downloaded from the Internet with a wife! :-)

Let me fix that for you:
My Pioneer Inno is not made by or provided by XM. In fact, I'm pretty sure XM does not manufacture satellite receivers at all.
I don't know if your assertion is correct or not. However, my Pioneer Inno does not allow me to transfer the recorded songs to my computer.

As for voter fraud reporting, here's just one link I found on the NPR site http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?story Id=6444162/.
As far as being left or right, I prefer to think of myself as independent. I don't subscribe to any extreme or narrow minded agendas.
I listen regularly to NPR but I can't stand Air America, Fox or any other extreme opinion outlet. I wonder if people who complain about NPR being biased in some way actually listen to NPR....

Actually, Joules/km (or BTU/mile) would be the best comparison of all.

What is the price for a comparable Verizon setup?

Did you ever run OS9 on it? Now THAT was an operating system.
I bet some smart person will figure out how to use it with xplanet.
