That's obviously false, because you can only spend one point on a post. It doubly false because slashdot won't let you moderate any more once a post has hit a bound on either end.
There are derrivatives of the doom3 engine. I think it is too early to tell if Doom3 or HL2 has/will have more games based on it, but I can say for sure, Doom3 is not a dead engine.
Of all things, why don't shipping companies use UTC? There's no ambiguity there...

That is just used as a benchmark. If they were to say "OpenGL 1.5 [or whatever they use] compatable", nobody would have any idea what they were talking about.
Home edition also only supports two CPUs max, is missing software RAID, and cannot be configured to host Remote Desktop connections. It has remote assistance, but not RDP. I'm sure that there are several more features that are sorely missed in XPHome.
I admit that you may have more experience than me in office politics, but I can't see how telling management that a nearly-done project is actually done is a good idea. Fudging numbers also sounds counter-intuitive. It almost sounds like you're giving tips on "how to be part of office bureaucracy" rather than "how to release a good product amidst office bureaucracy".
Two stories were already posted linking to Hexus today, which has completely totaled their servers due to the slashdot effect. I hope you can figure the rest of the joke out...
That doesn't sound right to me. The whole point of keypair encryption is that anyone with the public key can encrypt, but only the people with the private key can decrypt.
The pirates did little work in removing the calling-home functionality of the oh so popular FCKGW release of WinXP. What they did is release a Corporate Edition of WinXP, which was designed to use a volume licence key, and therefore not call home in the first place.

$4 per what? Gallon? Litre? Hogshead? Football field?
Well yeah. You'd hope that they'd at least buy out companies before donating their technology all willy-nilly. :D
Rational what? They're a company... they make several products.
And lastly, the size of Texas.
Except when following up with "all trades".
I think you mean smaller and more expensive, with less features and large flaws.
It has it, except it is crippled in that you can only do striping. Unless you open up some choice DLLs with a hex editor and change a couple of bits.

Too late to block google? That made me laugh. If they did that, it would be a scandal that would put the previous antitrust ordeal to shame.
Blogs are turning into the second spam of the internet. Some of them are legitimate and interesting, but a vast majority are not.
Ahahahahah BURN! I agree though.

Belive it or not, that's exactly what I do. While I do have several pockets, I rarely use them because I have a backpack.
