or they dumbed down the pc version. See: Thief 3 and Deus Ex 2. oooohhhhh hthat makes my blood boil. Deus Ex, Theif 1/2 were some of my most loved pc games. I was so eager to play their next installments. I was so disappointed by what came out.
In Australia and Europe some of printers in the ipx range, such as the ipx3000, ipx4000 and the ipx5000, can print directly onto cds/dvds. Due to some copyright or patent issue the same model printers in the US have this feature disabled. Not only just in the firmware but there a extra slab of plastic on the front to prevent the cd from feeding into the printer. Want proof US owners? pull down the tray on your ipx 3000-5000 printer. you can still find the disc tray in there!
If Canon follows suit and region codes their cartridge (which would be a real shame since the ink in the canon ipx range are so cheap), then not only would Us residents have to import their printers to get full use of its features but they would also have to import the ink if they want to use genuine cartridges.
You must have been just unlucky. It worked fine on mine when I tried doing a search while it was still indexing.
They even claim on their website the application is able to do this.
After going through the few steps of the configuration wizard, CDS will start performing the initial indexing of your computer data. This process can take a while, but is performed only once. Note that you can start using CDS even while this is in progress but will only be able to find all of your computer data once the initial indexing is completed.
.....
Not only does ogg theora have great video quality but it has multiple subtitle support built in, which is great for up-coming unlicensed-yet anime and other foreign films.
Don't think thats gonna happen anytime soon. THe FTA with the US kicked in today and one of the things it does is tighten copyright laws in Australia to the level of the US's.
Some would say even tighter since fair use doesn't even allow you to time shift in Australia.
I remember getting Megaman for a christmas present many years ago and it had slowdown at some points when there were alot of enemies on screen.
Here aa review on the game that mentions the slowdown in it:

"* " Don't return product warranty cards."
Maybe that will void your warranty?"
If any Australians re eeading this, it would be illegal for the distributor/manufacturer to not honour their warranty if you haven't sent your warranty card in. A docket is sufficient to gain warranty.
A large portion of slashdot users use firefox too but most internet users don't.
What the americans on slashdot agree with what americans in general do.
ilink (unpowered firewire)
minidisc. still one of the best formats ever. too bad the data discs were crippled and hence never took off.
hi-8. yes and no
Lithium ion batteries were invented by Sony as well afaik
It says nothing of the sort on that blog entry you linked to. The author of that entry was just giving his opinion. Tell me when theres actually a spokesperson from china saying that and then your statement might be correct.
Problem with putting games straight onto the cart is its clumbersome. The carts are pretty small and you need to have a plug on top for the cable to go which then leads to the pc. With the wireless feature it'll make it more easier to dl games unless NOA has some card up its sleeves to stop it playing unsigned games.
I was using Visual Route way back in '99.

listen to the wise old man:
With great power comes loads of software
It's harder to find a region locked brand name dvd player here than it is to find a brand name thats not.

It would have to have a 2nd analog pad. Without that anolog pad on the rhs, 2d fighters would be much more difficult to play.
6. The look on microsofts face when Xandros takes over the market - Priceless
If they wanted to do that I'm sure they would have got him a Kia. =)
Isn't that from Return of the Jedi? or did hey steal it from Star Trek?
When I required an 'extended loan' from the school libary for my exams, I used to do this. =)
