Actually Google needs to start making apps that work better in Firfox and work in crippled mode in IE. IT's the only way they are going to encourage people to move away from MS products.

Microsoft is desparate. Since achieving a monopoly in Office they have failed miserably in achieving a monopoly in any other industry despite dumping billions into things like "microsoft at work" (for office machines), expedia, webtv, xbox, sql server, iis, etc.
The company stock price is stagnant/dropping, they need to be able establish other monopolies or their pyramid scheme of stock manipulation will collapse like a house of cards. Add to that a serious brain drain to google and you can see why they are acting the way they are.
They have lots of cash, there is a reason they don't give that cash back to the shareholders (it's their money after all), they NEED other monopolies to keep going.
Buy extended warranties on things you are likely to keep for four years or more and things that are likely to keep some value after being use for that long.
This mean a warranty for your mac, no warranty for your PC.

Yes, many of them. Usually worked better then installing windows on a laptop. Heck installing ubuntu on a dell laptop was so much easier then installing windows 2000 on a dell laptop. Windows didn't even recognize the ethernet card so I could not download drivers. I had to go to another machine and burn the drivers to a CD (cos it didn't recognize my usb key either).
WHen people say "linux isn't ready for the desktop" they mean "linux isn't windows". To them linux will never be ready for the desktop until it looks like windows, acts like windows, and runs all the windows software.

Of course unless the guy who did the compile took very careful notes you have no idea what your particular installation of qmail is capable of either.
I inherited a qmail install one time and it was a nightmare to maintain. When somebody decided to start sending me 100 thousand emails a day to unkownuser@mydomain.com and my message que got to be hours long I only had two options.
