How to stay rich by keeping up with technology: 1) Create a way for people to play Mp3's in their cars. 2) Install the player in a popular vehicle. 3) Make sure the manufacturer of the Mp3 player charges a lot for each song downloaded so you get a kickback from them. 4) Give a little money to the RIAA so they won't say you're trying to rip of record producers........Anyone else smell setup?
Wait a minute! No more porn! What are we on Slashdot to do without something interesting to look at when the DSL line malfunctions and we can't get online?!!
First they take away our right to download free music, now they want to take away our right to learn how to give a blowjob properly on HBO? What else is there to live for?
How to make more money than God.
First, create a trilogy that will make everyone think you are creative and interesting.
Second, disappear for about ten years or so to make your new fans wonder when you will continue the stories
Third, re-release the original trilogy in a raped and fabricated version to hype the new idea
Fianlly, create another trilogy to serve as a predecessor to the original that will keep the techno-geeks guessing for years while still buying the DVD's
There are going to be remakes of Episodes IV, V, and VI, and they're all on hard drives at ILM ready to be released on the 30th anniversary of the original release date. With over-amped CGI scenes on "special editions" to follow 10 years later.
Just trian the person to always ask the boss asinine questions about things you should have already told them. It's not like they can fire you after you've gone! Hey you have to leave your legacy to your co-workers who survived.
Personally, I have dramatically increased the size of my CD collection due to the downloading I've done. I've also increased my musical interests based on the songs I've downloaded accidentally.
Isn't that what the RIAA really wants us all to do? I mean it leads to more money for the artists (or should I say their record companies) in the long run.
If you want to call file sharing anything criminal, don't call it "piracy", it should be called copyright infringement. Don't be so quick to use the word coined by the RIAA and others who feel threatened.
I'm glad to see that someone has realized the money-making potential of file sharing and this study is just the first step in expanding consumers' access to products. If only the RIAA would realize this fact, we could all be happy.
I think it is irresponsible to call it "thieving", just like downloading music is "thieving". I may be old, but I remember the old low-tech days of taping songs from the radio using a cassette tape recorder and Lord knows what I would have done all those years I was in school without my Days of Our Lives taped episodes. It may be infringing on copyright to do these things, but I for one will still download my songs and taping the shows I miss while still buying CD's and paying way too much for cable. So if you want to call me a thief, I'm guilty. Come and arrest me for liking a crazy soap opera.
Let the machines try to prevent it, and if they can't; let us all fight back and re-insert "The One" into "the Source" and be done with it.
And if you believe all that, I've got some fine real estate in Louisiana to sell you:)
why not? I used to be a member of AOHell and I still was sent every CD known to man. I'm about to start maiking fun sculptures using AOL Cd's and a blow torch. Now, a new car would be nice to add to all the decorative art.:)
