hmm...thats not a bad idea...perhaps they should make parking meeter style outlets for 25 cents a per half hour with a 2 hour limit...and 10 minutes and with a 30 minute limit in Manhatan. Quick someone patent that!
You are right most are not secure and it's a bas thing. I think all wireless devices should have security on by default and not work in unsecure mode for any reason! I have seen an owned wireless network at a small buisness recently and it didn't look pretty.
you can only get verizon DSL if you use there phone phone service. I know a few people who actually sighned up for AT&T DSL service and they had to go trogh hell because verizon didn't want them to go. It's a vicious battle and the customer looses this one because of lack of choice.
I agree...There are way too many laws that are so outdated and are still legitimate it's kinda scary. Most law makers don't know anything about technology so it takes time. I mean VOIP is phone service using new technology that does the same thing as traditional 100+ yearold technology but in a completly difrent way. This should be toghroly reviewed by law makers and updated as necesary.
Here in NYC you can go to any local computer store and grab a custom system built the way u want for a good price. In my opinion it is better to buy from little computer stores than from the big boys because you get better quality and service.
I have no clue why would anyone buy this. I mean Pentium M is great for laptops because of the lower power consumption but there is very little to gain from it on the desktop. It is very overpriced for a standard workstation onfiguration where somone dosent need power. I mean it saves power but not enogh to make it worth the trouble.
Call Bruce Willis and tell him to start the preparations. Seriously tough 1/233 chances should not be too much of a concern right now. As we monitor this object we as it gets closer we should get a better idea of the chances and in 30 years we will have new technology to hopefully deflect this thing...Happy Holidays Slashdot by the way:)
yea sadly it was retail...it was that upgrade in the blue box for $50 buck...honestly the bigest waste of cash...i flung the CD out the window...ohh the irony
It's about time. Companies have gotten away with this for a very long time. What if someone buys a box with software and don't agree with the EULA. They can't return the box and they might have to go trough hell to get there money back. It wasn't right and I'm glad the government sees this now. Most likely other states will follow this ruling.
Fuelcell
I know they don't care. But the courts should care about prior art
That's right!!! Yay!!! if I see a the "Outlet Meeter" I have this to prove it was my idea... Omg I can't stop laghing.
I'll get arond to deflashafying it one of these days LoL
Wow...it would not surprise me if someone would...

I borrow. Sometimes with interest!

It may also be a very bad thing...depending on what you are in to...

Use stone wheels and make the roads out of iflateable rubber that way no one gets a flat, just everyone at the same time.
This company was mentioned on Slashdot over 50 times for its attacks on linux.

nope. But u get the MD5 ;)
sadly i did...it was windows ME... im not even joking...
Most software says on the box that u have to read and agree with the EULA before use so I don't know how well it will fly in court...
In some cases that may not be a bad idea. What if the EULA says "by buying this u sign your left nut away to us to do with as we please.
