This is only half way joking but microsoft knows some user dont update for whatever reason be it lazieness or ignorance.now what if they write a "virus" similar to this that patches the system for newly found critical remote hole and then destroys itself after a certian amount of time.I know it's not legal or anything but it's just an idea.

the windows RPC implimintation and the LSASS share some similar quilities with worms and back doors, One has to wonder how much more of windows has the same charictaristics of a virus.

This company makes some nice CNC machinery for woodworking that work just like this.Anything you can draw in 3d with cad you can make on one of these.
I work on a machine almost identical to this one
http://www.biesseusa.com/biesseusa/product/biesse/ rover24.htm
and some of the details on these doors are made with a CNC machine like this

As a CNC (Computer numerical control) programmer i can tell you that this machine is able to move that paper on it's own.If you look at the hat video you see it pick up the paper with a little vacum move it to any corinance you set it too and the rlese the vacum.they probly edited that part out to make the vedio shorter so there is no cover up or bullshit of any kind,to mee it's cool but it's not complicated at all. Here are some simple instructions on how to build a simple little cnc router

.this machine is just a little more complicated but works the same way.
It's very cool too see something like that.I work with a "Robot" like that evryday. It apears that evry movement of the machine has to be programmed in on each axis.In a way this is more advanced than the router I work on with only has 3 axis's.Do a goole search on CNC machines and you will see some interesting stuff that work like this robot.
When will people learn that windows is not a good system to do important stuff on.just because MS says it's revolutionary and the media buys it and then so called experts agree dosent make it any good...facts speak for themselves.
You know what would be cool...if it would be posible to somehow recycle part of the heat from this clust into energy.perhaps tunneling all of it into one source and it boil water into steam to make energy...kidding about that last part;)
When one buys any type of content on media they should be able to back up the content to protect the invesment made, making this practice illigal dosent prevent piracy in any way and dosent stop people from doing it anyway. When most people get a movie or a program or music, alot of people don't even realize there is anything wrong with that.It is neccesery to somehow educate people on what is legal to do with the content they payed for and what is not so people would understand.Making backup copies of payed content should not only be legal but encuraged to protect ones invesment...those who knowingly pirate are a whole difrent story tough...
altogh it is half baked it works..kinda...and second of all a new warship running on windows gives a new meaning to crash and burn...perhaps they should name it The NTanic
I agree with you 100%...it's about the right tool for the job and the tool the user works better with...to some photoshop is better and to some gimp is better...not about making a big deal about something being not free but suits the needs better.
for IBM to do that because that would alianate the entire linux community and turn alot of important people against them it's not gonna work no matter how big they are...Linux is ment to be open and dirty tricks will make things bad for them...look at SCO...
But that type of feature could be usefull such as blocking a worm ridded PC from the Internet until it is cleaned and remote assisance and configuration with permision...if your ISP want to spy on you they can if they REALLY want to.this type of stuff has its uses.

maybe in wine because windows can't take that much abuse no matter what you run it on I can bet anything on that.
Betya this thing could run longhorn in bochs faster than you will on real hardware :P
this thing should do doom 3 with a software renderer at a very playable 47 FPS...
It's all for reserved for Doom III on longhorn.
But once the HIV is disabled all the way woulden the immune system distroy it along with the Anti-HIV virus?

I think WUSB torpedos are more practical...the only problem is the range.

Pretty soon they will find a way to desipher hidded messeges from human and animal farts.
at an Impresive 67fps on this baby...

Allow me to clarify...Morally pireted and not technacally.
I tought I would never see pirated Linux distros but i just looked on xMule and i saw cds and dvds of this...this means Linux is gaining ground LoL.
Microsoft has made several fetures similar to this one avalable in there line of products if you know what i mean.
