I really dont see a good utility on this thing, i think its pretty much a waste of money...
Unless you only want to know where your pet is wich is unnesesary if you take good care of it...pets mainly dissapear when they are stolen so...if they are stolen the burglar will probably throw away the device and then it will be once again useless...
I really dont justify paying every month for calling my dog...specially since i dont even like cell phones they are too expensive and voip is a lot better and cheaper and computers are never that far...
when i first heard about xbox and microsoft....i thought of windows and its bugs...
i thougth omg! my console is gonna freeze! and i guess i was right!
i have both an xbox and a ps2 but i really preffer the ps2 i have a lot more games to play and they dont make you pay more for retrocompatibility:P

i unplug the machine, install and everything...i set up the network and stuff...patch the computer for blaster and its friends, reboot and then i connect it to the net...
I agree its pretty stupid because in order to get the patchs you need to get infected at least once:)
so what i did is mainly kept a copy somewhere and when i got a computer to install i do this and over the network i find the patch and install it...usually before going online i install two things...antivirus, and firewall...this helps a lot.
when i go online finally i update everything, OS, antivirus, firewall, etc and then another nice reboot and everything should do fine:)
My boyfriend spend hours and hours playing that thing, he always got excuses for playing "i got a match with the team" "i got a training with the team" "im stressed", etc...and then when he plays he shout like a mad man, i cannot even watch tv.
we live together and i hate that game...sometimes he make me feel like that game is more important than me because when he plays he dont even listen to me most of the times because he is too focused into that thing.
I sometimes think its my fault or because we cannot go out much because its too expensive here and we dont have lots of money...but i believe we could do other stuff together rather than me watching him play (i get really bored to see him play specially when i want to do something with him i have to wait for hours)
I like some games too i admit i am a geek but not to the point of fragging all night while my dear one is sleeping.
If you want my advice, try to give some atention to your girlfriend i believe its more important than just a game. Dont make your girlfriend feel this way...its just not nice and sometimes it makes you feel really bad.
The only comoplain about the body shop is not about the content (wich its very little at first and creations can be limited for now)...
My complain is about body types...you get two types of body...thin...or fat...but you know maxis forgot that in real life there is lots more of types...first not everyone's hight is the same and second...you can be fatter than that or even have bigger boobs too...well the face design is really well done but how about the rest of the body?

What this tool does, i had some time to check it out:) is to create your sims...but you need something called "content" that will add skin tones, hair styles, clothing stuff...
This tool was made to replace those old fan made skins (you know..for the first version you had to do it bitmap like with any editor and it was working after same for objects) Now as the game went 3D they just gave you a 3D tool to create your sims as you wish...
Im eager to find more content (or find the way to make it myself) to add the body shop so i can create better stuff:)
I agree with you, linux is a lot much better, its free and secure...
But you know...there is something called newbies, old people or normal people that are not into computers as much as the people in slashdot.
This kind of people need a system that can be dumb proof just like windows...you may find it easy to use linux, but tell granny or mom or a friend that has no computer knowledge at all to use it...they will probably regret and come back running to windows..why? because user interface in linux is not fully evolved like windows...basically is not easy enough to use
Remember that most old people is afraid of computers too and if they were trying to start using the computer with a system like windows...they find it hard, if not impossible (my mom for example she got BIG problems understanding computers and lots of people of my age too some are even scared of the computer)..so imagine linux tell them to install a program rpm like in linux or a program in windows and guess who they are gonna choose.
Dont hate me...I quite like linux but you know you cannot say that everyone should use linux instead because in my oppinion they will not...for a simple reason...its not simple enough to use. The day it become dumb proof just like windows with no weird stuff on it for newbies (but still advanced enough if you need to do "complicated" stuff) this will change...until then grandma will continue to write her emails in windows...
And one more thing...this may be stupid but getting to connect a machine to the internet in linux may not be simpler as you thought...myself i had big problem doing it...so imagine grandma...
Well yes there is only one google but you can choose not to use it. At least the email.
You can go to certain providers of mail like your ISP or university for example and ask for an account.
If you live in france you could even apply for an account in free.fr and they are far much better than that. But for that one you need to live in france because they send you the password to your home.
