    So what is advertising? It may be persuasion, but is it reason?

    When I carry a gun, you cannot deal with me by force. You have to use reason and try to persuade me, because I have a way to negate your threat or employment of force.

    Almost everyone at the Battle of Gettysburg had a gun; I don't recall Union soldiers attempting to dissuade the Army of Northern Virginia from the secession.

    When I got Hotmail, gmail required a phone number, which I didn't have. I am aware that there were technical issues with Hotmail, but Microsoft seems to have fixed them.

    And - we do judge people by the email addresses they give us as contact information.

    So, what do you think of me? :-)

    I also have a gmail address now.

    You're usually going to get a lot more depending on the amount you're willing to pay. Because what is often overlooked is that by paying for your software you're also automatically protected by law, up to a certain degree of course. But if the software you bought turns out to be fake or worse; actually causing damage then you have every right available to complain and take it before court. At the very least you can easily claim to be swindled out of your money.

    Has the no-warranty clause in a standard EULA ever been rejected by a court?

    Can a keylogger work if it's mounted read only? How would it get the data?

    That still doesn't help the attacker if the filesystem is set noexec.

    mount -o noexec /dev/usb /media/usb_stick

    I don't know if you can set noexec in fat or ntfs, but then would the executable run in such a case?

    Also, how would you execute the file?

    An example is the word 'ghoti', which is pronounced as "fish": The gh as in enough, the o as in women, and the ti as in nation.

    Is there an english word where an initial "gh" is pronounced as "f"? Or where a terminal "ti" is pronounced "sh"?
