    It's for browsing the web on the couch, watching movies in an aeroplane, reading email in bed. It's better than a laptop for any of those things.

    How? A laptop is perfectly good for those.

    Then why didn't Ballmer say that it was categorically imperative for Microsoft to release an iPad killer? Also, if Microsoft is only kind of like Apple, does that mean that Microsoft is phenomenal reality to Apple's noumenal reality?

    as it may well be that dell and the rest are earning money on using windows, thanks to all kinds of trial bundles (enough of those, and it may offset whatever rebated price microsoft sells them windows for).

    So you get a representative sample of the entire population.

    The entire population of what? The United States? How are the people who have never had an iPhone supposed to answer? You could include past users who have left, but how do you know where they are?
