Here's a scary thought, though somewhat off-topic here, I think it needs to be addressed: What if Bush loses, but refuses to leave office? The reason wouldn't matter so much, he could have plenty. But think about it, who could actually MAKE him leave? He is technically in charge of the military, and would have the United State's entire arsenal at his disposal if need be.

Dude, the military does not listen tho Mr. Bush but the President, if Kerry wins the military follow Kerry's orders.

what's the difference if a few Hackers get a hold of your account?

You know its not just as simple as you think. I mean I dont care if a few hackers read my email, but what if they decide to use sensitive info in it or delete it.

I run an e-business from Nigeria and earn some money in the process. People email me their bank account numbers, creditcard numbers ,SSNs and what not (I am creative). Now if some immoral hacker got hold of that data , the poor users would be duped twice, and I would feel really bad abt it (I mean I could have got twice the money myself if I wanted). So I request Gmail to help the Nigerian revolution and our fight against AIDS and dictators and fix the bug as soon as possible.

.. most CS students should not be in the program much less touching computers. A good programmer is usually found in someone who does it outside school or work requirements. Someone who touches the command line for the first time in their Intro to Java class (one of the first ones in most CS programs today) is not one of these people.

Well I was under the impression that they join the program to learn CS and not the otherway round. I have seen smart students who have never used a computer before do really well in my course. Also CS is not just about programming, its like other engineering branches ... i.e. about solving problems ... programming languages are just the tools. Your argument is similar to saying that unless u have experience constructing bridges and buildings dont go into a Civil engg. program. (anyway most analogies are as dumb as a bat :)

This is slightly off topic but also relevant looking at the other posts which seem to be concerned abt the radioactive thing.

I dont know if many people know that Boeing used radioactive Uranium in the 747 -100 in the stablizer (or somewhere else .. I am not very sure). They wanted something with density and tungsten alloy (which they use now) was more expensive than U238 which was the wasted byproduct of power stations. They took care to sheild it and it had lots of warnings abt it being radioactive and ensuring that the sheild was undamaged.

So the point its not very unusual to use radioactive materials and nor very dangerous as long as they are properly marked.
