I think that you will find that PHP is a scripting language, and the thing you meant to troll about is called PGP. Strong encryption is something that is not (very) hard to acheive if you have the proper minds working on it. I bet these Chinese folks could come up with their own if they tried. So, you see, terrorists and whatnot will still be secure even if normal people can't protect their privacy. In conclusion, I think I have answered my first (and second) questions: you are indeed an idiot!
They did to Canada though... and those bloody Americans have been trying to subvert our perfect spellings! I mean, honestly, "color"... maybe in Spanish, but English, no...
Or, more specifically, the ICQ prank on which that flash movie (I assume that links to the flash movie) is based. You may find it at www.somethingawful.com in the ICQ pranks section (I believe it is called Attack of the Space Robots or something like that).
I'm not sure if this is sarcastic or what, but I'm guessing that the flight characteristics of a Boeing 777 are significantly different from that of a MiG, much like the handling of a semi-trailer is different from that of a Porsche Boxster. Not to mention, given the Chinese advantage in being able to simulate airplanes that they own, $6000 would probably get them a rather nice MiG simulator on their own.
I hate WINE... it hasn't been working for months on my computer, winelib won't even compile, and my attempts to reinstall it are holding at a steady 0%. The only Wine I might think about purchasing is WineX, and even then, not for a while. If you need to use windows, I suggest using windows. Also, notice that there is nothing preventing you from running QEMU or Bochs with a windows system image.
What happened to people being *completely fucking insane*??? Why can't people just be crazy anymore? Obviously, if such a small percentage of GTA players have done this, the problem isn't with the game, it's with the fucking lunatic that committed the murders. Why do people not realize this? If I *ever* learn how to program video games, I'm gonna make the most-violent-ever open source game just so it's freely available and these douche-bags can get their panties in a twist about it. Then I'll have the clear opportunity to tell them, rightfully so, to go fuck themselves.
Given that this structure has been receiving more support and interest lately, why has no government (especially NASA) looked at it for building a space station? I would think it would be a good deal cheaper than the method they are using now. Would it be cheaper to finish the ISS or to build one of these new structures of comparable price? I, for one, feel that this merits some more detail, and at least a cursory examination from international space agencies.
Aha... so what is the point of playing a game (and paying for the privelege) if you're going to get someone else to do it for you (and pay them for the privelege). Now, I don't know how much people pay for these things, but "a few hundred bucks" would be enough for me to do many more worthwhile things than to pay someone else to play a game.
Imagine this: I want to see a movie. I hear the first part is boring, so I pay some guy $50 bucks to watch the first hour and tell me about it before I watch the remainder. If I, or anyone else did that, you'd (hopefully) call them an idiot.
I rather do think it is funny. It is because I have something known as "a sense of humour". You should try getting one at some point, they are most excellent.
You mean your Nigerian contact only has $5,000,000 to offer you??? What a waste of time, mine has at least 60,000,000 (six ZERO millions) DOLLARS Amrican, of which I get 30%. Best of all, there is no risk!
All IE needs to be good is: tabbed browsing, popup blocker, standards compliance, and fewer security issues. Sounds simple, doesn't it? Firefox was able to do it, let see if, given enough time Microsoft can do the same. Although I will still use Firefox, it will be nice to have a competent browser when I use, for example, a computer at school.
If people with more money than brains want to be parted from it, in exchange for in-game items and money, then so be it. I don't see anything wrong with this. If there were a flood of super-good items as a result of too much farming, it is only a loss for the people selling them. If everything becomes hideously expensive in-game, then everyone will be able to sell everything for the same hideously expensive prices. The most crucial thing to remember, IMO, is that everyone can do this: it's not like one organization is getting Blizzard to give them free items. I say it's perfectly ethical to make money off stupid, rich people.
Well, if NAT didn't exist there would be an extreme shortage of IP addresses (although IPv6 would have been completely adopted by now). Also, I can serve web pages via port forwarding. What do you say to that?
I always see comments on these stories like, "zealots tell people to switch and can't back it up". Perhaps what the community needs to realize is, apart from companies who know what they are doing and can facilitate an effective transition, maybe it is best that companies do not do an abrupt shift from Windows to Linux. I am a vehement Linux supporter, but I realize that the transition may not be good for some people/companies. My parents both use Windows. I know that giving them a Linux box probably isn't the best idea until, say, Longhorn comes out and they have to learn a new system anyway. I think that the greatest growth of Linux on the desktop will not come from established companies, but instead the new companies that start with Linux so they don't have to worry about migrating this system and that system.
Well, I can honestly tell you that, for the most part, I transitioned to linux almost completely in one week. Granted I knew how to do some basic stuff before that, I learned a bunch of all-new programs. There is nothing that takes "months" to learn, unless you want to become a full-fledged admin, in which case you will have the time to invest. A more-or-less casual user like you could pick up most parts of linux in a week or so. Also, though KDE may or may not run slower (it depends on how much eye candy you want), you are not forced to use it. And it doesn't randomly crash any more than anything on windows does.
What bizzare world do you live in? I quite clearly gave the advantages, in a non-MS-is-evil format (although that's a perfectly good reason IMHO):
1. Wider availability of Free software.
2. Easier installation of new software, assuming you pick a distro with good package management.
3. Choice of themes, and programs to do any one thing (if you don't like, for example, KDE, you can pick GNOME).
4. Raw customizability. If this matters to you, there is virtually no part of the Linux system, from the kernel up to the flashiest GUI program, that cannot be changed.
I fail to see how this constitutes an "MS is evil" rant.
If Mono can be sued based on reimplementing an API, what does that mean for WINE? I think that, although there may be some legal problems, there probably won't be. And remember, this is Open Source: if enough people feel threatened by this, they will fork GNOME before the Mono code touches it.
Why shouldn't you? It seems like you like and use many open-source programs, so there is very little holding you back. If I had to pick one thing, it would be selection of programs. Sure there are more commercial programs for Windows, but there are many times more free (open-source) programs for Linux. They work well and install easily. There is no reason to stick with MS at this point, and, if you're a competent user, you will like the choice and customizability that linux offers.
Well, that being said, I think it's better to have an alternative life by playing World of Warcraft or Everquest, than it is to have it by smoking pot and drinking, for example.
That everyone says MMORPG players have no life? How is playing an MMORPG different from playing Counterstrike or any other game, or doing anything else for that matter? Also, it's not like $15 per month is very expensive. If you think it is, try going to a movie some time. Depending on how much you play (I admit I'm rather addicted to WoW) it's a pretty cheap method of entertainment. That being said, I only play it because I have nothing better to do with my time.
Second: See First.

Noes, it steals our karma, precious...

Perhaps I should sign up with hot-sex-porn@4lancer.net... nah, that'd be cruel

No, learning perl is for people who don't want to be understood by others.

Should I be glad that I'm on his foes list? Does this somehow mean I'm rational and normal?

2) You can use paypal to ensure your CC number doesn't go to the Russian mafiya.
3) I'm still using the 10 dollars I paid about 6 months ago, and I download a lot of music.
