Your connection must suck, it loaded in under 5 seconds for me. Well... I know that most Slashdotter's are under 25 and pretty impatient when it comes to load times.
Case modding is a *hobby*, it was never "cost effective". Perhaps you're thinking about building a work box from parts verse some commodity brand X box (or even a Dell)?
All you're doing at this point is polluting the environment.
From the story (I take it you didn't read?):
In the end, the team recovered all of the payloads sent up...
I'm sure you're jaded from doing this sort of thing all the time, but I still find it pretty cool. You will receive a t-shirt that says "Meh." for Christmas.
My biggest concern about MSE is that it's released by Microsoft.
I read no more, your post is a troll. It does not relate in any way to the actual product, which has been well recieved, and is in fact no more that a mindless Micro$oft Hate post with no real value.
The dropbox home page has a huge, prominent video right in the middle of the page. Did you try watching that? It explains pretty well what it does.
This is true, but a single paragraph could have done the same for those of us that resist clicky-clicky on long-winded promotional multi-media (especially when a single paragraph would have done the job...).
Dropbox allows you to store up to 2 GB free of charge. Dropbox reserves the right to terminate Free Accounts at any time, with or without notice. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, if a Free Account is inactive for ninety (90) days, then Dropbox may delete any or all of Your Files without providing additional notice.
So, you can use the free version, but if you do, make sure you don't store anything of value because it might go "poof" without notice.
Depends on whether you meticulously memorize or keep a record of dozens of passwords...
No, I don't. I use the same password/UID for *EVERY* bullshit site that really doesn't matter that much but I want to see the "subscription" content. And yes, I don't care if people know the UID / PASS to the bullshit sites that really doesn't matter that much but I want to see the "subscription" content. Folks, it's Gawker. If you're stressing over the disclosure of your Gawker UID/PWD, you seriously need to get a life.
You know, it's not like Gawker is everyone's primary email account or has access to their bank records - it's entertainment. So honestly, what's the loss here? For me as a "user", very little. If I even care that much, I'll change my UID/Pass. But maybe, since it's probably a throwaway account anyway, I'll just sign up for a new one and move on.
Seriously, what are "hackers" going to do with my account? It's not even under my real name.
He's talking about smoke signals an runners. Or maybe sending a bottle down the river and hoping someone finds it. But seriously, in areas where there are no land-lines or cell towers, you have two realistic choices, radio and sat phone.
SimpleCDN are saying that the ToS were changed specifically to shut them down. I imagine you're quoting from the new ToS.
There is nothing wrong with this idea. If I run a business and at some point I decide that I can not (or simply don't want to) support a certain type of customer, there is nor reason I should have to. Businesses modify their TOS and biz models all the time to address issues that come up that perhaps they had not forseen.
It means third party, Internet connected, managed services.
I would hope that the government used their own "cloud" datacenters, either managed by GS employees or a contractor, rather than a completely commercial facility...
Popular to say, but pure nonsense. It's about defense contractors with connections to present and former high-level government "leaders" making truckloads of money.
Any thoughts?
Brown miso gravy.
Your connection must suck, it loaded in under 5 seconds for me. Well... I know that most Slashdotter's are under 25 and pretty impatient when it comes to load times.

Yes, but the fact is, it was really written by the kids teachers.
Can't wait until the same heros are in charge of my healthcare. Oh wait, they already are...
Homeland Security and ICE are in charge of your healthcare? Really?

If you aren't backing up your data to removable storage, then it is not valuable to you.
Indeed. The whole concept behind this type of thing and these "cloud" back-up schemes is flawed.

Vigilantes suck at justice. They shoot first, ask questions later.
That pretty much describes Spamhaus and the other vigilante black-lists.
The same can be said about 100 other sites and organizations. It doesn't give them the right, or the moral duty, to do anything they have done.
The same can be said about Spamhaus and other similar "broad stroke / shotgun everyone" black-lists.
In other words, why should I spend time considering the plight of some self-appointed busy-body like Spamhaus? They are simple vigilantes.
They have done nothing, not a single thing, to help and everything to hinder.
The same can be said about Spamhaus and other similar "broad stroke / shotgun everyone" black-lists.
I guess the only stance worth fighting for anymore is legalizing marijuana

Care to name a few of these ways?

The upside is they will work in places that don't have cell coverage which are now few and far between.
In the Western World holes in cell coverage are "far and few between", but thare are indeed MANY parts of the world that are still cell-tower-free.
Sat phones are trying to solve a problem that doesn't really exist.
I spend a significant amount of time in parts of the world where there are no cell towers. It is a problem that exists for me, and I am not unique.
Now my email address is going to get spammed . . . .
"Now"?

They rejected my security clearance and fired me.
They may have rejected your security clearance, but I really don't think for the reason you suggest. Sorry, no...
