I don't see why people expect another ivy league lawyer+politician to bring change. Are people really so race sensitive that they think that because he is dark skinned his actions will be significantly different from other politicians?
I have to say, a stable Linux distro can be pretty boring. I like Fedora though, they throw in little quirks every now and then to make it all interesting.
Based on the description of the article, I dear say it has increased my liking of GPL over BSD. Before I didn't have any significant preference other than that my OS of choice utilized the former. But if the GPL "ensures all derived works are also free." Seems that it is the ideal choice (for me) for any free work that I do. If I am paid to do open source of course, the payer gets to decide. But to address the parent, I can no more force someone to open source an app, than I can force them to use my code.
If you're the only one using it, why disinfect it? You did say you're over the cold, right? It isn't going absorb EM fields from the laptop and mutate there by making it immune to your immune system. Maybe less disinfectants would actually be a good idea in your case. Aside from what you get from your mother, your body needs to learn itself.
May Sony should have spent some more dollars on the system, and charged closer to its value. Mistakes can't always be avoided, but it helps to not have to be saving every penny so you don't go broke trying to sell your product.
Since the point of the experiment wasn't to test the operating system, why give the test subjects the operating system currently most affected by malaware? Why not a Mac or presetup Linux box?

And the scheme of revisions that only change the spelling errors and the problems/answers is deplorable. It's a shame that people supposedly in the business of education engage in such activities. More curious to me however, is the fact that educational institutions haven't banded together to write and share "open" textbooks.
There's only one radio station that I like, if it changes its by a passenger, or by myself before I start my drive to work
My SO can tell you that I hate talking in the car
I darn well don't have sandwiches in the car
My car doesn't have a CD player
And I am chronically tired, but I am also lazy, so if I am too tired to drive, I am most likely in bed
When I got my first car in the USA, I purchased a bluetooth headset over a week before I met with the car dealer
I am not against cellphone use, I am against holding the phone while you drive. Also, men should just just keep all talking to a minimum when driving. Men's brains just aren't for that kind of multitasking
I really don't have a problem with a country messing with its citizens and even its geographical neighbors -- I think that's well within every countries right even if I don't like the specifics of what they are up to (China for eg.). However, this apparent effort my the American government to rule increasingly larger parts of the words his really disheartening. How about they stick to spying on their own citizens, that's much more fair (since it is a democratic nation)
I consider myself a Christian, and while I see no problem with this in relation to my beliefs, I think that there are far too many unknowns and variables involved. The process of evolution has worked just fine so far, let it be. I don't think we are yet intelligent enough to control this aspect of humanity.
How about the British government? Or the USA's government? All things considered, I don't see how the government most open about their bad behaviour is the one most worthy of this.
Because if someone crashes into me, I would like to subpoena their cell phone and auto-internet records to see if they were doing something else instead of driving.

Why wouldn't he?
$0?

Agreed. I haven't really seen much of a flame war of BSD vs. GPL on Slashdot either, maybe I just browser at to high a level.

Who says it ever gets to the courts?
The law isn't supposed to care who the accused is, or what they may have done.

Is that I can live pretty well without them. Who knows, I may even get more work done.

I read the article too, I didn't get the sense that the effect on the PC was the primary thing being observed.

I'm pretty sure Samba uses.

"Sorry open source fanatics, your world is not for me!" What the fuck does open source have to do with his move from Google to Microsoft?
The moon is close by, and has less gravity. Think launchpad.

when society looks down on physical violence. A solid punch to the chin and that guy may see the error of his ways.

I wasn't being sarcastic

I still hold that I like Windows ME, at least a user had a lot of control over what it did and did not do.
