I believe you have that wrong my friend. America seems to be apopulated by a alrge number of well meaning, Chrtistian type people who are ignorant on some of the darker truths of their country and life in general. Politicians, to their own disgust I bet, need votes, a majority of votes no less. So they structure all that they can to gain said voters favor. These voters, being the way they are, do not see through these guise.
Personally, I personally opose gay marriage, for example. Wether it should be legislated for/agsist is another matter.
I think this entire post could be summaried with a little experiment.
Get to tissues (facial tissue). Crumble each seperately. Poor a teaspon of ethanol onto one, and a teaspoon of an oil derivative onto the other. Ingite both. Attempt to hold both in the palm of ones hand. Observe
I do not claim to be a fan of books (unless they are the O'rielly type) but I read my fair share of Hardy Boys and the likes in my younger youth. I can speak at abbreviated as msot on IM, but I dare say my grammar is in no danger. (my spelling still sucks however).

What ever you think of the guy, you have to admit that he sure is a loyal fan. I'm prettty sure that had something of equivalent magnitude ocrrcured between some Linux distro and one of their users, said user would switch distro.
But while I see your point, the problem with it is that you want to solve a near unsolveable problem. These big bang corporations have all the pull and more on the laws involved. Barring some mass revolution, I don't see anyone in the current "developed nations" enacting any law (taxes) that will seriously take the edge of their profits, regardless of how sleezy these profits are earned.
People complain that they rather Windows over OSS based OSes because of the regular need to contribute bug reports, etc. Yet people are willing to (regardless of the magnitude of the cost) to beta test a program which if they like they will have to pay for again, despite that in all likelyhood they already have an older version of the program, which they already paid for? But using a free product, and contributing to it (also for free) is too much of a hassel?
I just don't see how you can have things both ways. The companies can sell outside the US but they can't hire outside the US? This is entirely a selfish outlook. Your statements implies that there are no benifits besides to the companies who do the outsourcing. The peopel getting the work are just as human as those losing it. If there is such a need for public money, tax the rich Americans, not the well of, I mean the filthy rich, esp. those who gained their wealth through questionable means. Like it or not, it is still one planet.
That's all fine and dandy, but I want a Wii. Not a PS* not an XBOX*. I haven't bought any console, since the Gamecube, although I have played others. And I will happily hand over my hard earned cash to NOA.
Wouldn't it be more traceable at the library since there would be me control over the "victim's" machine? Come to think of it, they should be setting up nets to catch these guys at the library if they are so bad.
Consider set A = { linux users ) , set B = { Microsoft customers } , and set C = { religious geeks } . . . I think it is fair to say that (A intersect B intersect C) even though n(A intersect C) > 0 and n(A intersect C) less than n(B)

Sounds like a James Bond game.
