    It was the main image from my site, and showed up in a flash in a set of other photos showing anonymity on the Internet [...] but it was still my original work used improperly by a major broadcast company.

    I would imagine such use of that content was for citation purposes and clearly fair use.

    If you need scripts to "show things properly" then the implementation is broken in the first place. The site's functionality should degrade nicely when javascript ain't available.

    Err I thought that the bandwidth was already paid for with my monthly bill... it's that or they shouldn't be selling 10 meg lines with "unlimited downloads" in the first place.

    It's not that difficult to know how to drive to save fuel, or to go fast, it's harder to excel at it though as you already know. I've driven a number of automatic cars over the past 5 years, most of them with sequential shifting so I could either go manual or automatic on the same car, and I've beaten the automatic transmission every time on fuel consumption. Acceleration wise, is hard to tell as it's quite subjective and frankly I never carried any measurements.

    This said, automatic cars are not as commonplace in Europe as they are in the US, so I would expect some refinements in american cars we may not have in here.

    Actually there are many good reasons to drive a manual car. Total control on performance, fuel consumption, and generally not being a lazy geezer.

    In defense of the US I'd say they're hardly the only democracy that pivot between two political parties. UK, Spain, France to name a few. As for Italy, only Berlusconi's party, whichever it is, exists.

    I agree with the post, not with the tone though. Something more realistic when just some bittorrent client doing it's kung fu would be around the 300-500 connections mark. And if you share the internets with more people, which I do, 1000+

    You can fine grain it to exhaustion, but there's a Mac market for sure, sales are healthy an market share on the rise.

    Desktop Linux, of which I'm a user, is a very small portion of the cake. How many non-geeks you guys know use some flavour of linux at home as compared to macs?

    I don't see how the parent is funny. OpenBSD is quite possibly the most secure OS around. At least for an OS that you can use for both server and desktop.

    Mac OS is a niche market.

    Hardly. A big proportion of graphic designers and sound engineers use macs, and adoption is up at home as well. Desktop Linux is a niche market by all accounts, but not the mac.

    For nothing really, just for very specific tasks. I would love a touch screen in my laptop to perform live using Ableton Live.
